Happy Halloween + a Layout!

Hey everyone,
Well yesterday was Beggar's Night and I just have to post a couple of pictures of the boys from last night.  Michael was a monkey and Jack was Indiana Jones.  They were too cute, but I actually think Michael (the almost 2 year old had more fun!)

Monkey Love!
Michael was so proud of himself with his candy basket.
 Indiana Jones

 Hangin' Out
Oh my, I just love this picture of the two of them on the steps talking about beggar's night.
I just love Halloween and I took a TON of pictures.  I can't believe how much Halloween stuff I have to scrap this year.  I think I will be scrappin' Halloween well into the Christmas holidays.

Michael was wearing the costume that Jack wore when he was 2.  So while Michael was taking his nap and Jack was at his football game I decided to look back to 2007 and reminisce about Jack when he wore the monkey costume.  He was so cute.  I had forgotten that Jack had a chubby little face.  I love the picture at the bottom of Jack with chocolate all over his face.  This was the very first time that Jack had ever had candy.  He thought it was sooooo awesome.  This is why I love to scrapbook.  I love looking back at my photos and just sitting there and reading the journaling and just remembering the moments.

I hope you like my look back 3 years ago.  When I look back at my old pages I am glad that I don't cringe at them.  I think my style has pretty much been the same. I may have used different products but the overall concept is the same.  If I were to classify my style I would have to say Clean and Simple.  Has your style stayed the same or has it changed changed over the years?

Cardstock:  bazzill
Pattern Paper:  Die Cuts With A View

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am now off to go see how I did at the garage sale!  Now this is my treat!!! (hehehehe)  See ya soon.

Future Artist

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.  Once again we have a busy  weekend with a flag football game, scrapbook garage sale, beggar's night, and then trying to fit in some time to relax.  Hopefully that will come on Sunday!

OK I have a scrapbooking  question for you all--What do you do when you have a great picture, but for some reason you are just blocked on.  Meaning you just can't get a cute layout together for it.  I am working on a picture of Jack in a pirate costume for pirate camp, and I have been working on it for 4 days now.  I think I got a good idea-start cutting the paper and then when it is all together I just don't like it.    Usually I just say--hey that is the way it is going to look, but for some reason I keep retrying this one.  What do you guys do when you can't seem to get a great layout together?

Future Artist

I love this picture of Michael.  We were down the basement.  My scrap area is there and it is connected to the playroom.  The boys have a desk close to mine as well as an easel.  Michael is my little artist.  He loves to sit next to me and color and do stickers etc.  It is so cute.  However on this day I guess I wasn't watching him too closely.  I was probably trying to get some work done and well Michael said "look" and I looked over and this is what I saw.  His face was all marked up with the dry erase markers.  Thank goodness the markers are washable and it was a bath night.

To make this layout I got to use my new martha stewart punch (I got it with my Oprah 50% off coupon).  I love this new punch.  I can see myself using this a lot.

Supplies:
Cardstock Close to My Heart and bazzill
pattern paper:  Close To My Heart
Button and button twine:  paper trey ink
tools:  fiskars border punch and martha stewart punch
ribbon:  michael's

Well I hope everyone has a good day.  I will be back tomorrow with a new post and layout. Thanks for stopping by!

Flying

Hi there,
Today is going to be a short post.  Swamped with just about everything.  We are having our quarter exams this week at school so a lot of grading and not much else.

I made this layout in the spring and I have to say I just love it.  We had just bought our swing set and the weather was just getting warm.  The boys were so excited to be outside.  I love days like this.  Jack had asked if he could try jumping off the steps of the swing set. Of course the worry wort in me was scared to death, but I said OK anyway, and of course I had to get my camera.  I just love this picture.  I was able to capture Jack in mid air with Michael "cutting the grass" in front.  It is one of those priceless pictures.  So here is my layout:

Flying

Supplies:
Cardstock: bazzill
paper:  little yellow bicycle
ribbon: little yellow bicycle
brads: making memories

Is everyone ready for Halloween?  We are here.  Our beggers night is on Saturday this year.  So this will be a bunch of fun!  Can't wait!  Will have to post a picture of the boys in their costumes.

I also have my local scrap store's garage sale on Saturday.  I am volunteering to work it from 9-1.  Can't wait to see if there is anything good.  Plus I hope my stuff sells.  We get store credit.  And I really want to buy the new Little Yellow Bicycle Christmas line.

Hope you have a great day and I will see you all tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by.

Imaginisce Halloween Card Challenge

Oh i do love the Imaginisce challenges.  When I read the blog on Monday and they posted the new challenge I knew I just had to do it!  The challenge was to use "old" scraps of any Imaginsce paper and the colors had to include orange, black, green, and purple.  Well I I know most people used the old lines like Cherish and other lines, but I didn't have any of those lines (too girly for my rough and tough boys), but i did have this really old line by Imaginisce.  I actually forget the name of the line but I think it came out about 3 years ago.  It was my favorite and it still is. I kept many of the papers because one of these days I want to alter some picture frames or blocks using this paper because it is so stinkin' cute.

To make this card I cut two strips of paper 2 inches in width. Then I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Black Soot.  I then cut a a one inch strip and stamped the greeting, spider web and spider using these stamps from Hero Arts (these are my favorite stamps for Halloween greetings--they are just too cute). Next I inked it up with Anitique Linen and Black Soot. I then used my new EK Success punch Bumpy Road.  I love this scallop punch because it is uneven.  I then inked the edges again with Black Soot, and attached it to the greeting strip. Next I cut out a die cut from Nestablilities and stamped them with the coordinating Paper Trey Ink stamps and then inked it up with Anique Linen and Black Soot. With this paper kit you got chipboard and matching stickers.  I took the candy corn and of course inked it up with Black Soot again (I just love my distress inks!), and attached it with pop dots.  I am really pleased with how it came out.
Supplies:
pattern paper and embellie: Imaginisce
inks: tim holtz
die cut:  spell binders
stamps: hero arts

Nothing new with us this week.  It has been pretty quiet--thank goodness.  I am still trying to get my "junk" ready for the scrapbook garage sale ready.  I don't have that much but it will be nice to clean out some stuff.  The garage sales are every 3 months or so and I always participate.  I am constantly cleaning out and keeping things organized.  I like to keep my stash reasonable because if I have too much then sometimes I can't seem to get going--I get hung up on picking the perfect items for the layout.  Plus I really don't have that much space for all my stuff.

I also want to give a big shout out to all the new followers--thanks so much I truly appreciate it.  When I read your comments I just have a great big smile on my face.

See you in a couple of days! Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Sunday!

Hello Everyone!
Wow another weekend just flew by and we have another jammed packed day today.  I think we are going to enjoy the nice weather and go to Kings Island for the Halloween fest for the little ones.  They always have a great little Trick or Treat area.  So that may be on the agenda for today.

Jeff and I had a wonderful date night last night.  It was awesome!  It is so nice to have a wonderful meal and not have to cook it and have an entire night of adult conversation and no one interrupts you because they want to talk about Pokemon or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (yes, jack is into them.  I guess they are making a come back and Jack is just crazy about them).  I am going to start looking for another sitter for next month.

Make a Wish!

This is another layout of Jack's birthday.    I took the picture right after he blew out his candle and he was still making his wish.  I just love the look on his face.  It is just too cute.  For his actual birthday I made him cupcakes and he got to put the sprinkles on them. He loves sprinkles (but of course who doesn't love sprinkles right?).

Supplies:
Cardstock:  bazzill
buttons:  basic grey
button twine:  paper trey ink
everythink else:  Imagainisce

Well I am off--just a short post.  I will be back on Wednesday with another card.  I will have to say this is my favorite fall card that I have made--just a teaser!  Thanks for stopping by!

Cards on Saturday!

Hey there,
I mentioned last week that I took a class with Jenn Sherkus from A Muse stamps this past summer and here are two more cards we made for Halloween.  This one is my FAVORITE.  I just love the simple design of the card. If you have followed me for any length of time you will know that I love simple and clean cards and layouts.

This one is also really cute.  I love the little owl.

Supplies:
All A Muse

So what scrappin plans does everyone have for this weekend?  I probably won't get much done because we are so busy plus I need to get things packaged and priced for  the garage sale at Simply Scrapbooks.  I have tons of stuff I want to sell (old paper, ugly cardstock that I got in a swap and other stuff--old magazines etc.) The garage sale is next weekend and I have to drop it off this weekend. I always volunteer to work it.  I have fun.

So I am so excited today because HORRAY we have a babysitter tonight!  My in laws have volunteered to watch our little monsters for a couple of hours while hubby and I go out to eat.  I am so excited.  We have not been on a date in over 2 months.  Don't you agree that sometimes you and the hubby just need to be alone once in awhile to reconnect?  I now I do.  We both have busy schedules and by the time he gets home from work I am just too tired to talk etc.  Now the big question is where should we go for our date night?  Hubby is thinking Bonefish Grill, but I am thinking steak--who knows where we will go, but I can't wait!

See ya tomorrow and thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Treat Bags!

Hey everyone!

Hope everyone had a great week. I know I am glad for the weekend but boy am I tired.  Plus we have so much on our schedule this weekend.  Jack has a football game plus 2 birthday parties and I have a baby shower to attend.  Plus the biggest event this weekend is that Simply Scrapbooks is having their big 13th Anniversary Sale.  Wow I can't believe I have been going to this store for 13 years.  When it first opened it was in a little store that was in walking distance to my house.  I would walk there on the weekends and just browse.  Wow has my style really changed.  Back then I was using all the stickers.  They had walls and walls of stickers. It was amazing.  I know a lot of people remake their scrapbooks because they no longer like their old "style" but I look back on my first scrapbooks with the cut out pictures and all the stickers and I have to say I still love them.  I created it and I remember each photo and page.  I could never throw it out and remake it into the "style" I use now. What do you all think when you look back on your old scrapbooks?  Do  you like them and want to keep them as is or do you want to remake them into your style now?

So needless to say I will be going to sale.  I really don't need anything but I think I will go just to see and maybe pick up a couple of things.

Halloween Treat Bags!

This past summer I took a class with Jennifer Mcguiere and she taught us how to make these cute little envelope gift bags.  They are very simple and very easy.  First you seal the envelope and then stamp it on both sides (or decorate it however you want).  Then you score it on 3 sides.  I scored it 3/4 of an inch in on the 3 sides.  Then you tear off the 4th side.  I then had Jack make all the die cut labels with the revolution.  He was so cute.  I wish I got a picture of it.  I then stamped the die cuts with the coordinating Paper Trey Ink stamps and colored in the pumpkins with copics.  Like I said--very simple.  Jack filled all the goodie bags with skittles, starburst and jolly ranchers.  He was so proud of himself.

Jack wanted his teacher's bag to be different so that he could easily give it to her so her bag is the all black.--just so cute!

I hope everyone has a great friday! and I will be back tomorrow with some more cards that I made with the A Muse stamps.

Oh yeah, if you like imagainisce and the silhouette they are having a blog swap!  Lots of fun!  Here is the link:Imaginisce blog swap

October Imaginisce Sketch Contest

Hey everyone,
I know it is Wednesday and I usually post a card, but I thought I would mix things up a bit and post a layout that I did for the October Imaginisce sketch challenge.  This sketch was awesome and I had so much fun using my Apple Cider collection with this picture.  Plus I just love this picture of the boys.  They had so much fun picking out the pumpkins.  At this farm they really decorate.  Michael loved looking at the donkeys.  I have the best picture of my mom with the boys.  I will be working on a layout using these photos hopefully later in the week.  Should be ready to post in about a week.  But back to this layout--I just love this colletion.  I just love all the designs and the colors. It is so perfect!  Working with this type of paper is just so easy.
Here is the sketch that we had to work with:

And here is my adaptation:

Pumpkin Patch

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Bazzill
Patter Paper:  Imaginisce
Buttons and Twine:  Paper Trey Ink
Stamps:  Imaginisce Snag ems
Inks:  Hero Arts and Distress Inks

I had a great time making the little pumpkin embellie.  I used the snag ems with my copics and some distress inks.  I got to combine my favorites--scrappin' and stampin'!

Hope everyone has a great week.  I will be back Friday with some cards!

Say Cheese

Hey everyone,
Boy let me tell you, I loved my crop Friday night.  I brought  5 kits (2 cards and 3 layouts) to make, and I got 4 kits completed.  I was so happy, and I stayed until 11:15.  My girlfriend, Tina, and I had a great time.  We have decided to sign up for another one next month!  Can't wait.

Well this weekend has been fun so far.  Just enjoying the fantastic weather here.  Plan on being outside the entire day today!

Say Cheese!

For Jack's birthday I got him a camera for his birthday.  I must say he still hasn't gotten tired of it.  He is still taking pictures all over the place.  It is so cute.  This layout is for him!  I made it with the Basic Grey Archaic line.  I love this line and for some reason I have been "saving" it.  I don't know why I do this sometimes.  At first when I made this layout I wasn't too happy with it, but for some reason it started to grow on me and now I like it.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  bazzill
Button Twine: Paper Trey Ink
Everything else:  Basic Grey

Well I am off to enjoy the nice weather and to finish up some projects that I have started.  I really want to wrap up everything and get organized.  Do you ever feel just disorganized and a little frazzled at your scrappin'?  That is what I am feeling like right now.  I just need to finish up  all the outstanding projects and have a clear slate. Hopefully I can do that.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see ya on Wednesday for another Card Day Wednesday!

Crazy Saturday!

Hey everyone!

I am so glad the weekend is here, but as usual so many things to do.  The in-laws are coming today to watch jack's flag football game so I have got to get the house picked up etc.  For some reason I still feel as if I need to make things look good for them.  I am looking forward to Sunday though.  My hubby is home all day (no
football game), and we are going to relax and enjoy the nice weather.  I love it  when I can open  up the windows and have the breeze blowing in the house.

Here is a layout from Jack's birthday party.  I surprised him with a Transformers piñata.  He was so excited to see it hanging.  I filled it up with Transformer confetti and little treats.  The kids all got a little treat bag to put their goodies in.

Supplies
cardstock:  bazzill
pattern paper:  imaginisce
embellies:  imaginisce

Ok I have to give a shout out to Tracy this week.   She has on her blog the cutest little treat bags.  She has been posting them for about a week now.  If you haven't had time to visit her blog please do so because they are so stinkin' cute.  She has inspired me to be creative this week and make little treat bags for my son's class.  My goal is to have them done by the end of the week so they are ready to hand out for his little Halloween party.  Thanks Tracy!

p.s  I always write my blog a day ahead of time so I will post tomorrow about my crop--it is in 3 hours and I am sooooo excited!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fun Friday + A Layout!

Hey everyone!

Well tonight is my first crop! It is from 5-12.  I know I won't last till  midnight--way too tired for that, but  I have my bag packed with 3 layout kits and a card kit.  I think that will keep me busy.  If I finish all that I will be pretty excited.  Actually I will be happy to get about 50% of it done.  Here are my questions for you--why do you go to crops--to get stuff done or to socialize? and How much do you get done?  I am going to meet my girlfriend  and we don't get to see much of each other these days--we no longer teach at the same school--she has 2 kids and life is just busy--so I am going to go to hang out with her and hopefully get some stuff done.  Can't wait--I will tell you all about it later in the weekend.

Here is today's layout.

I love cars and trucks!

As I mentioned earlier I found this John Deere truck at a garage sale this summer and Jack just loves it!  At his birthday party he had a couple of friends and cousins over and all the kids wanted to drive the truck.  It was crazy.  They had so much fun.  Each one wanted to drive etc.

With this layout I used my favorite Imaginisce Let's Roll paper collection.  I also used their chipboard stickers.  For the smoke coming out of the car and truck I used the I Rock tool with the crystal clear gems.  I  think it turned out so cute!

A close up of the gems--Just love my I Rock!

Supplies:
Cardstock:  bazzill
Corner chomper:  We Are Memory Keepers
Everything else--Imaginisce

What does everyone have in store for the weekend?  We have a little bit of a calm weekend. Jack has his football game on saturday and that is about it.  Thanks for stopping by!  I will post tomorrow with a new layout!

Halloween and Fall Cards With A Muse Stamps + My Shopping Update!

Hey everyone,
First I must tell you about my shopping excursion to Michael's.  I dragged hubby and kids because I needed to use multiple coupons.  I was ready to get me some more Martha Stewart products with my coupon--well, I was too late--the Martha isle was almost completely gone.  The worker that works the scrapbook isle told me that they have been so busy because of this coupon.  Well I ended up getting some odd stuff with the coupon.  First I got a set of extra blades for my circle maker (not exciting at all!) and then I got a new punch.  It has slots on it to thread ribbon.  I am pretty excited about this one. I can't wait to try it out.  It wasn't something that I was going after but I have had my eye on it for some time now.  So I got it. And then I got a small portable fiskars trimmer.  I am going on my crop this Friday and I don't have a portable trimmer.  It got good reviews so I got it to go in my scrap bag.   I also got a bunch of stuff that was non scrapbooking.  I found a great white/pin board to go in the kitchen above my desk. It is kind of a pottery barn type.   I have wanted  to get something to hang up little things like birthday invitations--reminders to call the dentist etc.  Love it! And then I got a smaller one (with the same matching wood frame) to go on the side.  Again just to keep me organized.  I love to stay organized!  So nothing that makes you go WOW on my shopping but I am very happy with what I got!  Here is a quick picture of my board--as you can see my desk is a mess.  Everyone throws all their stuff on my desk.  Plus we charge all our phones, nook etc here on my desk.

 Now on to my scrappin!
I have to say that my local scrap store Simply Scrapbooks is awesome.  This past summer they were one of a few stores to debut the new fall and holiday stamps from A Muse.  Jenn Sherkus came to teach the class using all the new stamps.  It was so fun.  I even got to sit across the table from Jennifer Mcguire and Jana Millen.  It was a lot of fun to listen to Jenn teach and then see the adaptations that Jennifer made to the card.  It was very cool.  I ,of course, followed the directions as they were given.

\
I love the small cards.  I believe the dimensions are 3.5 x 5 inches.  All the supplies are from A Muse.  Here are two links:
1.  jenn shurkus  she was our teacher and she is super talented in stamping and card making.  Check it out if you want to be inspired!
2.A Muse  their stamps and paper are super cute.  I really had never heard of them ( I am typically a Hero Arts or Paper Trey Ink stamper) but they have some really cute stuff.

Well I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.  I will be back on Friday.  I will let you know how my packing for my first crop is going.    Thanks for stopping by!

Stuck On Martha Stewart Products and A New Layout!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Well I am still stuck on Martha Stewart products.  Yesterday I talked about what my favorite product were, and while I was looking for the links to those products I found a couple of things to put down on my wish list.  So here is my new Martha Stewart wish list:

1.  Halloween punch set.  (I saw way too many to list but she had some of the cutest ones that I have seen.  I would love to just add one of the border punches)
2.  fringe scissors  these look so fun to use
3.  Martha Stewart small circle maker

What is on your Martha Stewart wish list?  I would love to hear about it!

Well on to my layout for today.   This is an old layout that I made in the Summer that combined different pattern papers from different companies.  Our place in Pompano Beach, Florida is on the 10th floor.  One day while Michael was taking a nap Jeff and Jack were playing in the ocean and I took these photos from the balcony.  It was so cute to watch them.  Jack really enjoyed the ocean this year.  Michael on the other hand did not like it--well maybe next year.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  bazzill
Pattern Paper: Imaginisce and Little Yellow Bicycle
random buttons
die cut:  spellbinders
font:  blosson quickutz

Well I hope everyone has a super Sunday.  I am going to go to Michael's today and use my coupons.  I will let you know what I buy.  Maybe I will take something off my wish list.  Who knows? We also have a little fall festival to go to in the afternoon.  The kids will have fun.  And if that weren't enough we have the Bengals football plus the Reds are home tonight.  Lots of stuff going on! Thanks for stopping by!

Martha Stewart on Oprah and A New Layout!

Hey everyone,

OK did everyone see Martha Stewart on the Oprah show this week?  Well I did not because I am one of those rare ladies that can't stand Oprah--sorry if you love her.  I could go on forever about why I don't like her but I will stop right now.  Anywaaaaay--Martha Stewart was on plugging some of her products and I did see the clips of her using some of her craft tools.  I do not have a bunch of her tools but the ones that I do have are really my favorites.  Here is my list of my favorite Martha Stewart products, and I must say I CAN'T live without them!

1.  the large circle maker:  I actually posted a video using this on my 6th blog post.  If you have not seen it here is the link: video review of the ms large circle maker
2.  the scoring board--i just love this when making all my weekly cards--here is a link.  use your coupon at michaels!
3.  the around the page punch set--i only have one and this is my favorite--loopy
4.  my 3-1 butterfly punch
5.  craft mat

Tell me what are your favorite Martha Stewart tools?

Well I made a layout of Jack for Back To School.  This year he started Pre K 5.  He was so excited.  His birthday is right near the cut off for Kindergarten so we decided to wait till next year.

For this layout I used all the pattern for everything on the layout.  For the apple embellishments I just simply cut it out of the paper.  I like them because they had a touch of glitter on them. I

Supplies
Cardstock: bazzill
pattern paper:  WE R Memory Keepers
Mini paper clips:  tim holtz
font: cricut
die cut:  spellbinders labels 8, file tab by quicktutz
Fiskars:  border punch

I hope everyone has a great Saturday!  We have a busy day ahead.  Jack has his first flag football game of the year.  At practice last night he scored 2 touchdowns so we shall see how he does.  Thanks so stopping by!

Me and My Boys

Happy Friday,

I don't know about you all but since I scrap I am always taking pictures.  For the month of September I think I took over 200 pictures.  The problem is I am taking the pictures so I am NEVER in them.  First, let me say I love my hubby very much, but he is not a great picture taker.  I got a new camera for my birthday (I will have to post a review soon--i love it!) and one of the things that I wanted for my birthday was a picture of me and my boys together.  Well he did it!  I just love this picture.  I actually have it framed, and it is sitting on my desk at school. I also need to frame it and give it to my mom for Christmas.  She has been asking for a picture of the 3 of us.  Do you all have the same problem--that you are never in any of the photos that you scrap?  How do you solve this problem?

So of course I had to scrap this picture.  I am very rarely in their scrapbooks so  I just had to make this one.  I think it turned out great!  I used the Basic Grey Oliver collection.  Here is a look at the collection:
I just love all the colors and designs.  I am always amazed by  their papers.  So here is what I cam up with:

As you can tell I am still into the layering concept of using many differnt pieces of paper.  I ama really happy with this one.

Supplies
Cardstock:  bazzill
pattern paper:  basic grey oliver, basic grey basics
tab:  quickutz
fiskars: border punch
buttons:  paper trey ink, basic grey
Button twine:  paper trey ink
really old heart brad--no idea
mini paper clips and staples:  tim holtz

Well I hope everyone has a great day and I will be back with a new layout tomorrow. Do you all have some scrappin' plans?  I am going to try! I want to make some kits together for my first ever crop next friday.  I can't wait!   Thanks so much for stopping by!

Halloween Card

Hey everyone.
Sorry for the quick post today.  I just am swamped at work--we have parent teacher conferences and just a ton to do.

Supplies
Cardstock:  Hero Arts layering paper
Stamps:  Paper Trey Ink
Die Cut:  Paper Trey Ink
Button:  Doodlebug
Gem:  I Rock by Imaginisce
Colored Pencils

This past summer I took a class using the A Muse stamps.  We made so many cute fall and Halloween cards.  I will be posting them in the next couple of weeks.

My Shopping Excursion!

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Michael is feeling better--thank goodness.  He got up yesterday and had a smile on his little face and I just about jumped for joy!  I guess he had a little bug or something, but I am glad it is over!

Yesterday I went shopping as well and went to my 2 stores that I am addicted to:  Chicos and Simply Scrapbooks.  I do have to say I was pretty good.  At Chicos I returned 2 items and I bought 2 items. So I broke even there and at SS I bought a set of Hero Arts Stamps.  They are these:
I have been wanting these for such a long time and for World Card Making Day they had them 20% off.  So how could I resist?  I already have some ideas on how to use these cute little girls.  I have been wanting to try copics with these.  We will see how they go!  I think I will stamp them out and then color them in during my study hall this week.

I don't have many friends that scrap.  My best friend lives about an hour away so we don't get together very often to scrap, but I did convince my other friend who live is town here to go to a crop at SS.  I am so excited.  I have never been to a crop before.  It is in 2 weeks!  Can't Wait--thanks Tina!

Well here is a layout that I did with the kids.  I am scrapping out of order and I am still finishing up summer.

Fun In The Sun

I love this layout!  I am addicted to these little file folders I found at the Silhouette store.  I just love them and then I stamp them with the grid stamp from Hero Arts.  I think they are so cute!  I am really getting into this layered look of  using several different pattern papers.  I just love it!

Supplies:
Cardstock and Pattern Paper:  Close To My Heart
Font:  Quickutz
File Folder:  Silhouette
Tools:  Martha Steward Circle Cutter, Fiskars border punch

The Thing I Hate About Being A Mom and A New Layout

Hey everyone,
The thing that every mom hates (at least I think so) is when you are at work and you get the dreaded phone call from your child's school that he/she is sick.  Well I got that phone call early Friday afternoon.  I have a special ring tone on my iPhone for the kids school.  So when it rang I knew it wasn't going to be good--Michael had been throwing up--YUCK!  So I rushed out there and picked up the kids.  I just hate it when they are sick especially when they are still babies.  He looked so terrible--pale as a ghost and just terrible!  His eyes lit up when he saw and said real soft "Mum!".   My heart broke.  I hate it when they are sick.  I would much rather be sick then see them feeling awful.  So the one of the things I hate about being a mom is seeing my kids feeling just plain yucky!  Plus now I have tons of laundry to do with all the towels from throwing up to wash.--Never a dull moment here!

Well on to my layout--this is another layout I did from the Fancy Pants collection.  Every couple of years or so I try to do a layout of my husband, and this is what I came up with.  I am still stuck of my sewing machine so I created this border around the paper.

As I said before I am not a swirly lover.  I like clean and simple lines but i decided to try it.  I am not in love with this layout but I am happy that I tried something new and stepped waaaay out of my comfort zone on this one.  The journaling is about how supportive my husband is of my scrap addiction.  I have taken him and the kids several times  with me to pick up supplies for my layouts etc.  He has also been to Michaels a million times using a coupon because I need 2 things on sale etc.  He is happy that I scrap!  Got to love that!

You and Your Hat!

Happy Friday!

Another week just goes by so fast.  School has been going well so far (knock on wood) so that makes life a little easier.  Been busy doing a layout for Simply Scrapbooks.  I have to say it is so much fun playing with the Echo in the Park Halloween paper.  I just love this new company.  I can't wait to post it when I am done.  Going to try to finish it up tonight.  We are also trying to find a babysitter in order to go out for a date night.  It has been a month since our last date night.  I love date nights!  Having a nice dinner (that someone else cooked for me) and having an adult conversation is so wonderful.  Hopefully we can get someone or at least line someone up for next weekend.  Don't get me wrong--being with my kids is fantastic but sometime I really love just being with my hubby!

I have been playing around with a couple of different companies lately.  2 Peas has been having challenges and I have been doing them.  They are a lot of fun because I have been trying some new paper out that I wouldn't normally buy. So here is a look at the paper collection I have been playing with.  I somehow missed this line when it first came out but I really like it.  I just love all the reds, blues and greens.  I normally don't like swirls and stuff, but it was fun playing with it.

So here is what I made.  Michael has been obsessed with wearing his hat all day long.  I think he is just so darn cute in the bucket hat.

Well I am off!  Going to finish my project and I have a busy day tomorrow!  Jack has his first flag football game late in the afternoon and  I have tons of errands to run in the morning (darn I guess I will have to stop by some craft stores on the way!)  Have a great day and I will see ya tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by!
