Friday Sparks Challenge 11/30

Happy Friday,

This is my second post of the day!

I am popping in today to enter the awesome Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.  I am totally addicted to these challenges.  This week we have a photo inspiration. Go HERE to see all details!  Here is the photo:
Ok, I totally loved the colors in this photo.  I have really been loving the yellow and grey color combos and the chevron.  As soon as I saw it I new exactly what I was going to do.

First, I cut out some stars  using my Silhouette.  I then flicked some Heidi Swapp paint in the awesome grey/silver tone.  I really love this new paint spray- my new love!  I then used the negative space and backed it with some random paper from basic grey and pink paislee.  I then added the stamped sentiment - one of my favorite Paper Smooches stamp sets!  When I was done I thought it was lacking something so I brought out bling.  I added randomly added some bling around my stars.  I then layered it on top of a white card base!  I love how it turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful and crafty weekend!

Friday with Moxxie Journal to Recovery

Happy Friday!
We made it through another week!  I am so looking forward to the weekend.  Saturday I will be cropping at Archiver's and then Sunday Jack and I have our tennis lessons.  I am pretty excited.  Not a lot going and I will have time to start some new projects!

Moxxie has a wonderful collection called Road to Recovery.  This is a fantastic collection for those people who are struggling with health issues.  I am a firm believer of journaling your thoughts.  I thought it would be really cool to make a journal for those who are going through a lot.  This would be a place where they can write their feelings about the what they are going through.

This paper collection is just so beautiful.  Here is the entire journal.
and here are some close ups.

For the journal I used some of the awesome die cuts and stickers to embellish the front cover.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with a fun card.  See you then.  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Thursday Meet Charlie

Happy Thursday Everyone,

So happy that the week is marching on!  I am totally looking forward to this weekend.  Saturday I am meeting my friend and we are going to Archiver's to crop!! Yeah!! I am so excited!!

I am finally finishing up my holiday 2011!  I don't really like to be more than a year behind.  I don't scrap chronologically but I just don't like being that far behind.  It is just my little pet peeve!  So last year our family embraced the Elf on the Shelf concept and when I brought him home the boys wanted to name him.  They came up with Charlie!  I love the name!  So Charlie had a lot of fun.  I bought him late in the season so I was only able to capture a couple of photos of him.  He loved to hide and they boys loved finding him every day!

For this layout I really broke into my stash- again using up what I already have!  I got out some October Afternoon paper from last year and from 2 years ago.  I layered it up and then used some Imaginisce Washi Tape.  I used some old Bella Blvd letter stickers for the title.  I then used some yummy twine from The Stringery and attached some of the awesome chipboard banner pieces.  Finally the last thing I did was add some flair.  I just love the flair from Shelly at A flair for buttons and the vintage Santas were awesome and just what I needed!

Happy Wednesday,

Hope all is going well for you this week.  So far so good here.  I love it when the week marches on without a lot of drama!

I have a quick card to share with you today.  First let me say -- sorry for the wonky photo- I didn't know it looked bad until yesterday and I don't have the card anymore to take a different photo---sooo anyhoo... I made this card for Cord Scrapbook Studio using t he Pink Paislee Portfolio collection.  I just love this collection.  The papers are just so awesome.  I used all my scraps and layered the pieces. I then used a Paper Trey Ink die and added some alphabet stickers for my sentiment.  Finally I added some fun Black Burlap twine from The Stringery

When I get this card back I am going to slip it into my hubby's lunch for a little surprise.  I love slipping little cards and messages into hubby's and son's lunches!

Tuesday Celebrate

Happy Tuesday!

My wonderful hubby turned 40 this past September!!  The boys and I made a special presentation of his presents and I was able to capture a fun photo of him opening up his presents and actually being surprised!
For this layout I broke a bunch of different things on this layout.  I really had a great time once again getting messy with stamping and misting! I used the Lily Bee Buttercream ( I think that is the name of it) collection.  I loved this collection because it is so nuetral! I then added some of the little embellies that came in the collection and added some buttons tied with the awesome light yellow twine from The Stringery .  I then cut an arrow, title and a speech bubble using my Silhouette.  I am really loving the grey, light blue and yellow color scheme right now!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with a new project.  See you then.  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Wednesday Imaginice Challenge Cards

Happy Wednesday.

I can't believe it but my baby Michael is turning 4 today! We are having a fun filled day- bowling, out to lunch, getting a frozen yogurt, picking up his cake and then hanging out till dad comes home to open the presents!  So fun!!

This past weekend Imaginisce had a fun I-Challenge over on Facebook.  It was a lot of fun.  They had 6 challenges for us and I was able to complete 4/6 challenges.  Here is what I came up with:

Challenge #1  -- Sketch Challenge

Challlenge #2- Use the Snag em stamps and create a background,  I used the snowflakes and made a border strip.
Challenge #3 - This was a color challenge
Challenge #4 - Use Stitching on a project.  I made a box for my son's class.  You can see it HERE>

It was great entering these challenges because I really broke into my stash and used some of the paper that I haven't used in awhile!  I had a blast!

Do you enter challenges?  When I have the time I LOVE them.  It really makes me think out of my comfort zone sometime.  It really gets my mojo flowing!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with a my Thanksgiving day card that I sent out this year.  See you then!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Tuesday Sketch and Lily Bee Layout

Happy Tuesday

or in my world -- Friday!!  LOL!!  I think of it as Friday since today is the last work day! LOL!!

So I was very sad when my term ended at Cord Scrapbook Studio.  I hope to try out again when they have try outs in December  but I was really honored when Stephanne asked me to do some guest work for the blog!   So the first thing she asked me to do was a sketch and layout  using some Lilly Bee Designs.  I was really excited about this.  Here is my sketch:
Here is my take on the sketch.  I once again was in the mood to try some new things and I used my mist, stamped on my layout and used some fun washi tape.  I had this photo that I had taken of my guys in the summer and I have been wanting to scrap it.  I really like how it turned out!  I made some of my own embellishments by layering them and then made a tag from the pattern paper and used some yummy twine from The Stringery

Monday Christmas School Project

Happy Monday!

Did you have a great weekend?  We sure did! We also brought up all the Christmas decorations and placed them in the living room.  I will set to decorate the day after Thanksgiving!  I have to say I am getting in the holiday mood now!

Speaking of the Holiday Mood- Jack's first grade class has a holiday project and Jack and I had so much fun.  The project was to decorate a cereal box with Christmas decorations and to bring in 30 Christmas cards.   Each day till Christmas the kids have to write cards to their classmates and teachers in the building.  This is to practice their writing skills and the box is to hold the cards they will receive.

So here is the card that I made for Jack.  I used my Paper Smooches stamps to create this card.
Just a basic card but I like the CAS look and because I had to make 30 of them - they were so easy!

For the box I used some cardstock and then some Imaginisce pattern paper and die cuts.  I love how it turned out.

Front
I sprinkled the paper with some of the new Heidi Swapp sprays in gold and red then added some twine from The Stringery

Friday Some Odd Girl November Challenge

Happy Friday!

This is my second post of the day- You can scroll down  to see my Moxxie Christmas Countdown!

If you have followed my blog for awhile you know that I really loved stamping and making cards along with scrapbooking.  I had taken a couple of classes at my local scrapbook store from Jana Millen ( a friend of Jennifer Mcguire's) and from Jennifer herself and they got me totally hooked on coloring.  I don't know how it happened but I got away from stamping and coloring and moved more into cardmaking with embellishments from the paper companies.   Don't get me wrong- I love that too but I was missing the coloring.  I love sitting at my desk and getting out my pencils and pens and just coloring!  It feels so good to back doing it again.

One of my favorite stamps to color are the stamps from Some Odd Girl!  These images are just so fun and they are so adorable.  This month's challenge is a sketch challenge. To see all the details please go HERE. Here is the sketch:
I colored Mistletoe Kaylee.  I broke into my Christmas stash of paper and pulled out some old October Afternoon.  I thought it would be perfect for this adorable girl.  I colored her with my Spectrum Noir pens.  I think she turned out just adorable.  I just love her! I then added some more stamping with some Elle's Studio stamps from the December Daily stamp collection and used the adorable Paper Smooches sentiment.

Friday with Moxxie Christmas Countdown

Happy Friday!

So are you ready for the weekend?  I know I am!!!!  I love this weekend because my town has its holiday festival and we take the boys every year to see Santa.  It is a lot of fun- shopping, eating, horse drawn carriage rides, crafts- I love it all!

Speaking of Christmas- it really is just around the corner and this year I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas Countdown using the awesome Party at the Poll collection from Moxxie.  I started with a $1 frame from Mihcael's and I painted it black.  I then made 13 4x6 chipboard pieces and covered them with the pattern paper.  I decorated them and placed a countdown number on them.  I then placed two holes and put a jump ring through the frame and attached the pages.  I really think my boys are going to love turning the pages for another new day.  It is small enough to place it on my kitchen table for the boys.

Here is a look at some of the pages:

Wednesday Pumpkin Painting

Happy Wednesday!

So once again I have a layout that I created just for me.  I broke into my stash once again and pulled out  some Bella Blvd and a ton of different embellishments from Bella Blvd, Little Yellow Bicycle, Elles Studio and my latest addiction- badges from a flair for buttons.    I had a blast with layout because I just layered everything from my paper to my embellies.  As I stated in a previous post ( and sorry if you are getting sick of hearing it) but I have made a pledge to myself that I am not buying any new products until my stash is reduced.  I have NO more room in my paper files.  So it is very freeing to be able to use a ton of paper and a ton of embellishments on my projects.  I love it!!  I was really happy at how this turned out!

supplies
paper- chipboard- stickers- bella blvd
fabric buttons and embellishments- LYB
tags- Elle's studio

I am really cruising with my work lately.  My mojo is flowing once again and I am loving exploring different techniques and styles.  I love it when I am having fun with my hobby!  I am totally out of my rut and having a ball.  Do you ever get in a rut or just feel out of sorts with your paper crafting?  How do you work yourself out of it?

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with a new project.  See you then! Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Tuesday with Little Yellow Bicycle

Hey Everyone,

Little Yellow Bicycle is doing  wonderful and exciting blog posts this month.  The Twelve Days of Once Upon a Christmas  Cycling Team has a ton of inspiration for you to get in that holiday spirit!

Yesterday was my debut at Little Yellow Bicycle.  I have to admit I was REALLY nervous about this guest spot.  It took me a couple of days to even come up with an idea and then I was so nervous to cut the paper because I didn't want to mess up.  Finally I went to my hubby and told him how I was feeling and he was so awesome! His words of advice "Get Over It!!!  Do your work and don't over think it!"  I so love him.  He was totally right I was over thinking it! So once I got over it my mojo started to flow!

This collection is THE most beautiful collection ever.  I absolutely love the Christmas collections.  They are always my favorite and Once Upon a Christmas did not let me down.  It is so awesome!

For my first project I made a layout of my boys with Santa.  I had been saving this photo from last year.  I really needed the perfect paper for this special photo I snapped while Santa was talking to the boys before the actual photo was taken.  I love how Santa is whispering in Michael's ear and he is just all smiles!
For this layout I made 3 embellishment clusters- Here are the close ups
For this cluster I used the chipboard and clear acrylic overlay figures for my ornaments.  I added some of the green burlap twine from The Stringery (I am loving that burlap twine!)
Here once again I used the clear acrylic frame and then added some more of the chipboard shapes and the fabric covered die cut shapes.  I just fell in love with the title piece Believe!
For the final spot I added once again the acrylic shapes and the chipboard shapes.

Supplies
everything is LYB except
twine- the stringery

I also made a second project- a collection of gift card presents.  I would love it if you stopped on over there to check them out and leave a little love! You can see the projects HERE  Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with a new project!  See you then!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Monday Homework

Happy Monday!

How was your weekend?  Mine was pretty good.  I got a lot of work done around the house and even had some time to scrap a little.  Not as much as I would like but enough to make me happy.

Have you seen the new collection Portfolio from Pink Paislee?  This line is just awesome!  I was really lucky and got to play with it for Cord Scrapbook Studio  I fell in love as soon as I opened the bag.  This year I started for the first time Project Life and many of my photographs have inspired me to do a complete layout of the photo or photos.  This is one of them.  This year Jack started to have homework.  I snapped a couple of photos of him and just had to include this in his school album.

For this layout I had a lot of fun.  As I have mentioned before I have been a little restless in my scrapping and have been wanting to try new techniques.  This is one of those layouts.  I used an October Afternoon background stamp and stamped the houndstooth image in three places.  I also sprayed some mister huey ink all over.    I then layered my pattern paper on top of the stamped images and spray marks.  I then used their tags and other images to embellish the papers.  I used my Silhouette to cut the title.  I really liked how it turned out!

Friday with Moxxie Fall Banner

Happy Friday!!

I am so ready for the weekend I can hardly stand it!!  This is our first weekend without a Saturday sporting event with Jack.  So the only thing for me to do is grocery, errands and I have dentist appointment.  I am not sure how I handle the extra time!  hehehehe-- maybe scrap??????    Then on Sunday we have tennis practice and game.  I have to say I am loving helping out being the assistant coach but I have to say we have 2 more weeks left and I am looking forward to it ending.  I really just want to relax a bit!  The on the go for both Saturdays and Sundays has really started to wear on me!

So today for my Friday with Moxxie post I have a fall banner.  I love fall and I love to decorate my mantle with all the fall colors and decorations but I felt it was missing something!  So one of the things I love to create is a banner.  I used the Shades of Autumn collection for this.  I cut the banner pieces using cardstock and then cut the top layer with one of the beautiful pattern pieces.  I then cut the words fall out 6 times- the first 5 where with kraft cardstock and I layered them on top of each other.  Finally I added the yellow pieces cut from another sheet of the beautiful collection.  I then inked the edges all in brown.   To tie the banner pieces together I used the heavy burlap twine from The Stringery.  This twine is amazing - so think and the colors are so awesome.  I  used the orange and brown colors.

Here is a close up.
And a look at the whole mantle.

Thursday Fall Memories

Happy Thursday,

I know it seems like I haven't been scrapping lately but really I have been.  I really have been very creative lately in the scrapping area -- my mojo has really been flowing; however, I just haven't had the time to photograph them.  Plus I still have so many layouts that I did over the summer that are just now getting posted to the Cord Scrapbook Studio blog.

Here is a layout that I did back in August for Cord Scrapbook Studio using the new fall collection from Bella Blvd.  I just LOVE fall collections and this one really is super cute.  I made a collage of some of my favorite photos from last year and put them together.

Wednesday CAS Challenge CFC77

Hi Everyone,
Today I am here with this week's CAS challenge.  The challenge make a masculine card!  You can see all the details HERE.
I broke out my Imaginisce again to create this card.  The grey cardstock is actually the packaging to the chipboard.  I loved the blue and grey pattern and I didn't have any of the paper left so I cut up the packaging.  A thrifty person always comes up with great ideas to use every little bit!  I stamped my sentiment using Paper Smooches and finally added some yummy twine from The Stringery!

Boy, do the weekends go by fast or what?  Did you have a great weekend?  We sure did her and I got a lot of stuff done for around the house and some crafting time in!!  Gotta love that!

I had the privileged to work with the awesome collection Makin' the Grade from Little Yellow Bicycle for Cord Scrapbook Studio.    I really loved this collection.  I wanted to make some fun altered items using this collection that would be great to give to the teacher's for Christmas or Teacher Appreciation day.  My first one is an altered clipboard.  I know I use clipboards all the time so I thought it would be fun to alter one.  This clipboard is aimed more for the elementary teacher but I still love it as a High School Teacher!  I trimmed the paper to fit and then glued it down.  I then used my Silhouette to create the fun school images all using the paper from this collection.  I then glued those down.  Finally I used a matte modge podge and gave it a good coat to seal it all.  I love how this turned out!!

My second item was super easy.  I took a 4x6 clear acrylic photo frame and popped in a 4x6 sheet of paper and then attached the note pad.  So easy and so cute!!
