Some Odd Girl and Freckled Fawn Blog Hop

Happy Wednesday!

So excited about today becuase Some Odd Girl is teaming up with Freckled Fawn!
A Freckled and Odd hop!
Fawnies and Oddies share the stage, mix up products and bring the WOW with a fun blog hop that runs now through Monday, May 5th at midnight EDT! See how cute and quirky stamps pair up with sweet and darling embellishments as you hop along, and be sure to leave a comment at each stop because there will be two winners! Each will get a fabulous prize from BOTH Some Odd Girl and Freckled Fawn!
You might have arrived here from the Freckled Fawn blog.   if so, you’re on the right track!  If not, you can get started at the Freckled Fawn blog.
For my project I used the April Oh Deer Me embellishment kit.  This kit totally rocks! There was washi tape, wood veneer, alphabet, and puffy stickers!  Yeah, I know embellie heaven!
So now it was time to play! I decided to make a layout about my boys adventure at a local splash park.

The washi tape had a pink/red tone combined with gold and I placed that at the top and bottom of my layout!  I LOVED the epic wood veneer banner.  For som reason my oldest says this ALL the time and thought it would be fun to add that to the title.  I then went through my stash and found some more wood veneer from Feckled Fawn and added them to tie together the embellies!  The vellum alphabet is totally amazing.  I love that teal/green color! I then added a puffy heart.

Now it was time to start adding my Some Odd Girl stamps.  I used stamps from 4 different sets (the camera, two different hearts, and 2 different sentiments) I stamped them using my Jenni Bowlin ink in red and grey to tie the colors together. I also added the yummy gold doily from the shop as well.  The Some Odd Girl stamps just rock for adding them to a scrapbook layout!

Now here is the important information you need for the HOP!
Here is your hop list… Feel free to hop at your own pace over the next few days but be sure not to miss anybody, because our winners will be randomly drawn from ANY of the blogs along the hop! Ready? Here we go!
Enjoy the hop, folks, and we sincerely hope you’re inspired by all the fun stuff you see along the way! Thank you SO MUCH to Freckled Fawn and the amazing Fawnies for joining us for this event! Happyhump day, and join us next Wednesday when we announce the winners!  Now you’re off to Jo’s blog, and remember you have until MONDAY, MAY 5th at MIDNIGHT EASTERN to leave your comments. Good luck, and have fun!

Tuesday Core'dinations Mother's Day Challenge

Happy Tuesday

The Core'dinations DT was given the assignment to create something for Mother's Day.  I still had two photos that I had not scrapped from 2012.  We went on a Mother's day hike and I loved these two photos.  Michael was NOT happy because he did not want his photo take but I love the photo anyway!  Jack is always ready for a photo! LOL!
So I broke out my Core' Impressions and lightly sanded it to bring out the fun pattern.  I hen embossed several other pieces of cardstock using my Darice embossing folders (the chocolate and pink colors) I then layered them under my  photo and added a touch of Bella blvd. pattern paper. I then added some fun stickers and flowers from Bella as well.  (Love breaking into my stash!).  Finally I added some enamel dots from Glitz.

Friday Hey Dude

Happy Friday!

I was feeling crafty this week but I didn't have a lot of time.  I needed to make a card for my little one's lunch box and I came across this new sketch.  So I decided to enter a couple of challenges!

First, I used the Retro Sketch from THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE .  Head on over there to see all details!

Love this sketch and knew it would work great with my CAS style.

Next, I wanted to play with some of my Paper Smooches stamps and this week over at the Sparks Challenge Blog it was Anything Goes!  This is my favorite challenge becuase you can create anything you want!
I splurged the other day and bought a new stamp set- Little Fellas.
I thought my boys would love some lunch box cards made with these stamps!  So I got busy and created this card.

I broke into my paper stash once again and pulled out some really old Doodlebug paper (whenever I use my old Doodlbug paper I always seem to smile- the paper is just bright and cheery!  It got me thinking that I need to do a layout with it.  Put that on the top of my to do list!) and found some matching yummy May Arts chevron ribbon and then colored my litte dino with copics and spectrum noir markers

I even made a quick video for you.  I hope you enjoy it.

Thursday Fun Friends

Happy Thursday

I have been having so much fun in my craft room lately.  I have a new look on my craft and I am totally lovin' it.  I am really having fun trying some new techniques.  My layout for today (sorry it is a bit blurry but the lighting wasn't very good- cloudy day :()  I will try to take another pic if I have time!

For this layout I wanted to try my hand at watercolors and I used a pretty purple.  A little bit is peeking through.  I made this entire layout with scraps.  The paper is an older collection from Bella Blvd.  When we were pumpkin shopping we went into the gift shop and saw this really cool witch that was HUGE!  Jack jumped up on the table and yelled - Mom, take my picture with my new friend.  LOL!
I also made a process video to share with you on how I used my scraps to make this layout.

Happy Wednesday

There is a Brand New Lawnscaping Challenge!  The Challenge is to create a mini card or mini card set!
I need to make a little gift for one of my coworkers.  She does so many nice things for me and I want to give her a couple of cards for all occasions.  So I broke out my Lawn Fawn stamps and got busy!  I have two designs and I just changed the sentiments and so I will have a total of 6 cards in the set.  Each card measures 4x4.

Here is the first design.  I love that pink flamingo.  I colored her in bright pink using my Spectrum Noir markers.

My second design used the totally cute Gnome!  I just love him.  I once again colored my image with my Spectrum Noir markers.

Friday Lax Tough

Happy Friday!

I am soooo glad the weekend is here!  We have a super fun weekend planned with lots of family time!  I can't wait!

I have been super crafty this week.  I actually got to play with my stash and I came up with this layout.  Again I am trying to finish up 2012!  In June Jack started with Lacrosse at the Y with a beginner class and he instantly fell in love with it.  This was him at his first game.  He was so darn cute!
For my layout I broke into an older Echo Park Boy collection.  I know it came out like 2 or more years ago and it I thought it worked perfectly with this photo.  I started off with a piece of Core'dinations Graphic 45 Cardstock and then layered my paper- stickers- chipboard and brads.  I loved playing with all of it!  So much fun!  (Lax is the name for LaCrosse just in case you didn't know.  I know I had no idea until Jack started playing- LOL!)

Monday Core Make a Wish

Happy Monday!

Did you have a nice weekend?  We did!   The weather was nice ( a bit windy) and we spent a lot of time outside!  Loved hanging with my boys.

Today I have a new layout I made for Core'dinations.  We were given the challenge to create a project using the Chocolate Box collection.  I have to say I have been a bit intimidated by this collection but I jumped in and now I am totally addicted to it!.

1. I started with my Spotted Core and sanded it just a bit in some places and then heavily in others.  I cut it down and placed it on a piece of Imaginisce pattern paper.

2.  I took a piece of Chocolate Box and ran it through my Fiskars paper crimper and then sanded it to expose the core.  You can see below how the beautiful blue color is coming through.
3.  I tore the bottom of the Chocolate Box piece to expose the inner core even more.
4.  I attached my photo and then glued it to my base.
5.  I  then used my sewing machine and went around this piece a couple of times.
5. I then used some Imaginisce embellishments and made my own using my Lawn Fawn star dies and some more yummy Core cardstock.  For the finishing touch I added some chocolate enamel dots!

Supplies
Cardstock:  Core Essentials, Core'dinations Chocolate Box, Core'dinations Spotted collection, Core Impressions Jillilbean Soup
paper, die cut, sticker- Imaginisce
lawn fawn dies
enamel dots- glitz

Thursday Core'dinations Easter

Happy Thursday!

When I think of Easter I think of Spring, New Beginnings, Colored Eggs and Bunnies!  So when the Core'dinations Design Team was given the assignment to create a project with Spring in mind I immediately thought of the above things.  So I started going through my stash to see what I could come up with and I found a bunch of fun goodies!

1.  First, I embossed a piece of the 110 lb. smooth cardstock from Core'dinations with one of my Darice embossing folders.  I just love the look of those Easter eggs.
2.  I then got out my The Alley Way Stamps and stamped my cute little bunny and carrot and colored them using my Spectrum Noir markers.
3. I fussy cut the images out and put them to the side.
4.  I cut my grass using the Core'dinations Gemstone cardstock with my Silhouette.
5.  Next, I stamped my egg stamp on my Core Essentials Cardstock.  A quick tip here!  First, Sand the paper to the desired level.
Now stamp the image on the cardstock.  It is a lot easier to sand first and it comes out looking perfect every time!

I then put the card together and this is how it turned out!
