pumpkin carving

Happy Friday and Happy New Year's Eve Day!

I can't believe 2010 is almost over. Wow time is just flying by.   I just got used to writing 2010 on my checks and now I have to start writing 2011.  Do you all have any fun New Year's Eve plans?  We do not.  I am not a huge fan of going out on this night.  I think the people get a little too excited for me.  Jeff and I will put the kids to bed and then we will have a relaxing night together, and as usual I will probably fall asleep before the ball drops.

Well I am doing a huge push here on the blog this month to finally wrap up my fall and Halloween layouts.  During the fall I always have so much to scrap, but I have finally finished it up.  So my layouts for the next couple of weeks will be fall/Halloween based. So here we go!

Pumpkin Carving

This was the first year that Jack got to help carve the pumpkins.  Usually we paint them.  Let me just say--He loved it.  We bought one of those little kits to make the carving and it was so much fun! For the layout I used Echo in the Park paper.

Here I made some tabs and then used the Tim Holtz mini clips.  I just love those.  They look so cute!  I used the letter stickers that came wit the paper pack.  I thought they looked great!
A close up of the stickers again and the border strips.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  bazzill
pattern paper:  echo in the park
tim holtz: paper clips

Today we are just hanging out at home.  The weather is kind of yucky--damp, cold and rainy.  The kids are getting a bit stir crazy though.  We might have to get out of the house for a bit!

Thanks for stopping by!

What am I Working on + A Layout

Hi everyone,
I can't believe my vacation is almost over.  I have had a really enjoyable time.  I have been able to scrap, read, and just relax.  That is what I needed!

So here is what I have been working on. I had these pictures on my desk for awhile now.  They were taken at a local farm.  We went there to go on a hay ride (that layout will be posted soon), and they also have all these jungle gyms for the kids to play on.  My boys loved them!  I loved taking their pictures from the windows and doors.
This is the paper I knew I wanted to use.  It is the basic grey Oliver line.  I thought it went great with the pictures.
I got so excited when I checked my blog updates and here was the new December 28th sketch from Sassy lil' Sketch.  As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to use it to make this layout.  I knew that I was going to alter it a bit (like I always do) so that I could fit the 4 pictures.
And here is my take:

Having Fun!

I love the little file tabs that came with this line.  I usually make my own but i really loved them.
This tab was perfect to put the date.  I do have to add that the lighting in the house was terrible when I took these pictures.  The colors of the red circle and the green letters are way off.--sorry!
The journaling block was a basic grey sticker.  Again-usually make my own but when it all coordinates I just had to have it.
At the bottom I added 2 strips of the paper (they were scraps from another layout that I did.  Here is the link the that layout (My Silly Boy + you can see the color of the red and what it is supposed to look like). I also added a border sticker from the line as well.  To finish it off I added the big circle sticker and then added some random sticker stars.
Supplies
Cardstock:  Bazzill
Everything else:  Basic Grey

Now last week I mentioned that I had received from Santa my 3rd spinner by Tim Holtz.  I had a couple of emails about how I was going to stack them and what it would look like.  Well here it is.  I just love it!  Now each of my inks has its very own tool.  I have them labeled.  I still need to buy about 4 other tools and then I am set!  LOVE IT!

Well I hope everyone has a fantastic Thursday!  Hubby is home today, and the kids are going to school for the day so hubby and I are going to go out to lunch and have a great day together!  I can't wait.  I will be back tomorrow with another post and new layout.  Thanks for stopping by!

Snow Day Card by Memory Box

hey everyone!

Well when I posted on Monday I said I needed to take down the decorations and I did. I was a machine.  I got everything done and then cleaned the first floor, and I continued to clean the basement.  I have a huge trash collection coming!  I am pitching tons.  I hate all the clutter! I now just have to scrub and clean the upstairs and vacuum like crazy to get all the needles up from the decorations.  I can't wait till it is all done!

Yesterday was a me day! I went to the spa and I got my nails done and an eyebrow wax and a facial.  I feel fantastic!  I love me days. I love my nails.  I had acrylic for a little bit but I just didn't like them for me, but I love the look of polished nails, but regular polish chips so fast on my thin nails.  Well I tried something new--gel polish.  I love it.  It lasts 2 weeks or more and it is my nail.  It only took her 20 minutes from start to finish and I love them!  What a fun day!

On to my Card:

Well a couple of weeks ago Simply Scrapbooks had an offer where if you bought so much you got a free card kit and this is what I picked.  It is from Memory Box.  I thought it was so cute.  We got all the pieces and then we could assemble and decorate it however we wanted.  So this is my take.

For the snowman I used my copics to color his hat, scarf, eyes, nose etc.  I then filled in his body with some Ranger Stickles to give him that snowy feel.
I then inked the edges of the cardstock with Black Soot just to tone down the brightness of the edges.  I think it is really cute. I am glad I picked this.  I am sending it to my Mom.  She LOVES to get cards in the mail, and I always like to surprise her.

Nothing exciting on my agenda today--laundry!! I would like to scrap a bit today--hopefully I will be able to.  Well I will be back tomorrow with a new layout.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sassy Lil Sketch

Hey everyone!
Can you say addicted?  Yup that's  what I am!  I am loving these sketches and I am totally addicted!  I did the new one sketch challenge that came out on the 21st of December from Sassy lil' Sketches.  I had so much fun!
Here is my take--This fall we went to a local festival and they had a person making balloon figures.  The boys were just amazed!  I love their expressions on their faces.  Just way too cute!  Michael had them make a ghost and Jack got a double light saber from Star Wars.
Here I made a journaling spot with some of the scrap.  It is hard to see but I inked the edges of the journaling spot and the edges of the scallops at the bottom with Black Soot from Tim Holtz.
I used once again some of my DCWV rub on stitches.  My little sewing machine is one the blink and I haven't decided if I want to get a new one or not.  I might just try to fiddle with it again to see if I can get it to run.
Supplies
Paper:  Pebbles
buttons and twine:  paper trey ink
rub ons: DCWV

I have made a pack with myself that I can't buy any more paper until I clear out some of my old stuff--So with this layout I cleared this line out!  I have had it FOREVER!  I thought the colors just worked with it.

Well yesterday I wanted to get a start on taking down the Christmas tree but I got caught up instead in cleaning out the basement toys.
The one thing I hate about Christmas is all the new toys--where do they go?  So I cleared out a bunch--some are going to charity and some I will rotate.  I like to rotate toys.  Keep some in storage and in about six months put them back into circulation and take others out.  Keeps them happy that way. I have found with mine--if there are tons and tons of toys they don't play with any of them but when I keep the amount down they play with them more.  So today I am going to try and take down the upstairs decorations.

Well I hope everyone has a great day and thanks for stopping by!

The Day After Christmas!

Happy Sunday

Did everyone survive Christmas? I barely did. Jack was up at 2:00am Christmas morning and I believe he got sooo excited for Christmas that it made him sick and he threw up several times . Needless to say I did not get back to sleep. Hubby thinks he had a bug and I think he was just too overwhelmed with everything. Who knows? He started to be back to his normal self after a 3 hour nap--yup still thinking just too excited! My mom came over for a wonderful brunch and then I cleaned up--my big question is Where do I put all the new toys? It is crazy!!!! Mom went a bit nuts this year!

Here are some pictures:

Michael opening his Curious George doll!

Jack opening up his Bey Blades--have no idea what they are!
Me opening up my craft spinner--yup that's right I now have 3!  I will post a picture soon of them all stacked on top of each other!
Our annual Santa Hat picture!  Boy is it hard to get 4 people to smile and be happy!
Hope everyone has a great day!  I am going to start taking down the decorations and then we have to go to the in laws for one more Christmas.  We are all exhausted!

Thanks for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow with another layout!

A Very Merry Christmas To Everyone!

Happy Thursday everyone!  I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve!  It is finally here.  I love  Christmas Eve. I have started a tradition with the boys that we make homemade sugar cut out cookies in the morning and then decorate them in the afternoon.  These are the "special" cookies that we leave out for Santa.  Jack has so much fun and this will be Michael's first year to get involved.  I can't wait.  We also go out to lunch with my mom.  In the evening we open one present just to get us so excited!

So when we went to see Santa this year--Jack who is waaaay to observant for his own good noticed that this was a "different" Santa than last year and was terribly confused.  Me being fast on my feet came up with the story that Santa can't be at every store and festival so he has his "helpers" come.  These "helpers" may be his brothers and cousins and close family friends.  Thankfully Jack bought the story.  He was funny then a couple of weeks later when Santa came to our family party and he said--"Now I know that was the "helper Santa" because his beard kept falling off"  Oh man--He is only 5 and noticing these things!

To all my Followers--I want to wish each of you a Very Merry Christmas!  I hope Santa is good to all of you and you have a wonderful couple of days with friends and family.  I am taking a little break to spend time with my family and not surfing the net. I will have a Christmas layout posted on Scrap Our Stash on Christmas day.  So please pop on over there if you have time.  I may try to post it on here as well, but   I will be back early next week with Pictures and of course a new layout (this last month I have been very productive!).  I also want to thank all of you for taking the time each day and writing such kind comments here on siehledwithakiss.  I truly love all of your comments!  They mean so much to me!

Thanks for stopping by and again Merry Christmas to All!

christmas Card #4

Only 3 more days!! I think I am more excited than the boys.  I just love these days!

Anyone doing anything fun today?  I am going to meet my hubby for a great lunch! and them I am going to head back home and just relax.  The boys love to curl up with me on the couch and under a blanket. Jack loves to play his leapster and Michael has is doodle pad.  So I think we may put on some Christmas music and snuggle in for the afternoon!  So far I am LOVING' my vacation!

Final Christmas Card of 2010!

Well here is my last card of the holiday season.  I actually made this one really quick with the left over scrap I had from the Little Yellow Bicycle Savor Collection. I needed this one to be easy so that I could make about 10 of them to give to people at school.  So this is what I came up with.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! I will check in tomorrow and then I am off for the rest of the holiday!
Thanks for stopping by!

p.s. one of my birthday layouts is being featured over at Scrap Our Stash.  The monthly challenge was to submit a birthday layout.  If you have the time pop on over!

4 Days till CHRISTMAS! + a layout

Hey Everyone!

Only 4 more days till Christmas!! Oh I can't wait!

Jack and I went to see Tangled yesterday and it was so AWESOME!  We loved it even though Jack got a touch scared towards the end.  I think we may go see Yogi Bear next week!

I am not looking forward to today.  The weather here calls for snow turning over the freezing rain for the afternoon and evening.  I can handle the snow, but I can't handle the ice.  Ice scares me!!!

Well I entered another challenge.  This one is by Sassy lil' Sketches.  I thought this sketch was perfect for this layout of Michael's cupcake and birthday cake.

I love all the scallop layers.  I used different pattern papers for each layer.  The bottom layer says Happy Birthday To You!

I added some of the chipboard embellishments to the layout.  I love these!
I made the journaling stamp and added the lines.  All around the layout I dug really deep into my stash and pulled out the white rub on stitches.  I forgot how much I liked them!  They really pop against the brown.

Supplies:
cardstock:  bazzill
pattern paper and embellishments: Imanginisce
DCWV: rubon stitches

I hope everyone has a great day.  I will be back tomorrow for my final Christmas card of the season!  Thanks for stopping by!

Imaginisce December Challenge

Happy Monday!
I can't wait till Friday!!  I just can't wait till Christmas.

We had a great weekend!  Jack had an awesome play date!  We made our first Gingerbread House.  It turned out o.k.  It sure was messy!  And I was able to squeak out a little bit of rest and relaxation!

Today I am going to try to get a couple of scrappin' projects done that I started at the Friday Crop.  I took Sunday off.  Hopefully I can finish them all up!

On to my layout!

Oh do I love the Imaginisce Monthly Challenges! This is a Liz Qualman sketch and I just love her sketches.  So I just had to do this.  I am not one to really jump on all the trend band wagons, and I never really got into the banner thing--but I like challenges because it makes me step out of my comfort zone.
The first banner is a rub on and the second banner is one using a more traditional string etc.  I like how it turned out!
I cut out the balloons from the pattern paper and added string and then added the number 2 on them because Michael turned 2.  I then attached them with pop dots.

For some extra embellies I added some of the chipboard stickers in the line.
For my journaling tag I just punched a circle and matted it on a scalloped circle and then stamped the lines.  Easy Easy!

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!  I will be back tomorrow with a new layout.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies:
cardstock:  bazzill
paper and embellies:  Imaginisce

You at 5

Happy Saturday!

Well I had a great time at my crop last night; however, I didn't get much done.  I got on layout almost done (I just have to cut out the title and complete the journaling), and I have 2 others started.  My girlfriend, Tina, and I were just a bit tired with it being the last day of school etc.  So therefore we talked a bunch!  Sometimes you just need that!

Pretty excited Jack has his first play date with a little boy in his PreK class.  Finally Jack is making friends!  He had a hard time when we moved and he switched schools twice in a year.  In our old neighborhood there were 4 boys that were all the same age and we could just walk outside and there would always be someone outside to play with.  Here in our new neighborhood there isn't anyone on our street that is his age so he has been lonely.  So I am crossing my fingers that today goes well!

On to my Layout:

You at 5

In this layout I used some of the 3 Bugs in a Rug Tool Time paper.  I used the B side of the double dipped paper.  I love when I can do that!  Every year I always do a page with just some head shots and the journaling is about how tall and what they weigh and then I put in their favorite things at that age.  I love to go back and just look at these pages to see how the boys have changed in a year, and the title is always the same You at_________.  I look forward to making this page every year!

Supplies
Cardstock:  bazzill
pattern paper:  3Bugs in a Rug
Brads and Buttons:  Basic Grey
Twine:  Paper Trey Ink

I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday--Can you believe next week will be Christmas. I am sooo excited!  I am ready!

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you on Monday with a new layout!

Autumn Time in the Winter!

Happy Friday everyone!

Oh I thought this day would never come!  This is my last day of school for 2 weeks! and I am going to a crop tonight!  I have 3 big projects to work on.

Can you believe that in one week it is Christmas eve--boy I am so excited!  Yesterday we had a snow day and I took the kids to daycare and I wrapped all the presents.  It took me 3 hours of wrapping.  It was awesome. I had the Christmas music playing and I had so much fun. Usually I have to lock myself in a room and wrap so that no one will hear me.  It was awesome!  I do not make tags. I have a different color of paper for each different person (my mom, hubby, me, jack and Michael) and then everyone else gets gift bags.  I don't decorate them.  I just have plain white and then use white, red, and green tissue paper.  I then have these great gift tags that add a bit of color to them.  Very plain and simple but very pretty. They look so pretty all under the tree.

Autumn Time

I have to first say that this is my favorite layout that I have done in awhile.  I just love everything about it!  I used my favorite collection by Imaginisce.  Boy, I have done a ton of layouts with this collection.  I guess I love it so is that I really layered the paper and I love the little embellishments. I especially love the tag.

I used the Silhouette's print and cut feature to get the little date journal tag.  Too cute!
I used my Silhouette to make the title. Once again I cut out the title 4 times and then layered them to get that faux chipboard effect.
A close up of the tag.  I love the Ali Edwards stamp--The little stuff at the bottom.  It just adds a little touch.  I love it!
Supplies
Cardstock: bazzill
pattern paper:  Imaginisce

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday!  I will be back tomorrow with another layout.  Thanks for stopping by!

oh yeah and if you want to look at the new Imaginisce line they are having a party--go check it outhere.

Snowy Thursday + a Quick Layout

hi there,
I know I usually put a post on what I am working on on Thursdays; however, my desk is still the same--clean!  I have not done anything for the past two weeks.  Just way to much to do.  I have one more school day--hooray!  Just trying to wrap things up and then get things ready for the holidays here.  We are all still trying to recover from our huge party last weekend!

Off They Go!

This is a layout I did for a contest at backporchmemories.com.  (it didn't win), but it was a hit with me.  I tried a couple of things that I had never really done on a layout before.  I always like to try new things.  Fist off I put glossy accents on my die cut letters to give it that shiny epoxy look--I know you can't see it in the pictures--sorry and then I had never used such a huge die cut before with the tree.  Actually I cut the tree out of the pattern paper and then added the chipboard ghost and bat.

I just love this picture of Jack and Michael.  They were getting ready to leave for Beggar's Night and I just happened to have my camera as they were walking down the driveway.  Just priceless!

Supplies
Cardstock:  bazzill
pattern paper:  Little Yellow Bicycle
embellies :  LYB
glossy accents

I hope everyone has a great day!  I need to get packing because my monthly scrap event is tomorrow plus tomorrow is my last day of school!  So bunches to do!!!  I want to thank everyone for stopping by today!

A Quick Thank You + Christmas Card 3

Happy Wednesday Everyone,
Wow I know I say this with almost every post but time is flying!  I have only two more days of work (not counting today of course!) and I can't wait. I need a break. I have so many fun things planned for the kids, take jack to see the new Disney movie Tangled, make gingerbread houses, hang out and play in the snow, spend a great day with Nanny and the list goes on and on!  I am also planning on taking a couple days off of blogging and scrapping just to relax and regroup!  Spend some quality time with ME!

I do want to thank all my followers here who went over to the the Little Yellow Bicycle blog and voted for me.  I did not win but I am so happy to be in the finals.  This was the first time that I ever made it to the finals of a contest.  I did receive an awesome prize package and I will share pictures later on.  Again thanks so much!  it really ment a lot to me to see such wonderful comments!  I truly appreciate it!

Now on to my Christmas Card #3

This is once again another A Muse card, and I just love it because it uses pink a nontraditional holiday color.  I just love the simple tress colored with copics and then layered with the cardstock.  Just very simple and very pretty in my opinion.

Supplies
All A Muse
copics
I hope everyone has a great Wednesday and I will be back tomorrow with what I am working on this week and possibly a new layout.  Thanks for stopping by and I want to thank everyone again for taking the time to write such great comments here on siehled with a kiss.  You all are awesome!

Picture of the Day + My New Stamps + A Card

Hello,
As you know I took a class this weekend using the new Hero Arts stamps.  Here are the stamps that I bought.  I just love them so much and I have one on order because it sold out in seconds.

This typewriter is just too darn cute and the the little messages are just adorable! Can't wait to use it!
This is the new Thank You definition background stamp.  I use my friend stamp all the time.  This will be a great addition!
I just think this stamp is so elegant and beautiful!  I have some great ideas on how to use this one! Can't wait.

My Picture of the Week!
Can I just tell you girls that my hubby is awesome!  Here he  is is down the basement working on my Tim Holtz blending tools.  The Velcro kept coming off and I asked Jennifer what she did to keep them on and she said she  her hubby used his staple gun and attached it that way.  So I asked hubby if he could help me and he said YES!  So he spent an hour putting in staples on all my blending tools--yes I have a ton of them--I don't like switching the pads so I have a tool for each color of distress ink--i will post a picture once my last spinner is up and running--I LOVE HIM!
Here is the finished product with a staple in the center.  Now the velcro doesn't fall off-LOVE IT!

New Card
The best things in life are friends

This is one of the cards we made at the debut party.  Love this--we used the background stamp from up above and then used the new flower stamps and greeting.  I love this greeting!  We then attached on of the Hero flowers. I think it came out really cute!

I hope everyone is having a great day! Thanks for stopping by and I will be back tomorrow with another Christmas card!
