Friday Sneak Peeks and a Card

Happy Friday!

Any plans for the weekend?  We have a busy Saturday!  My little cousin is graduating from High School.  ( My father's family is VERY large and my father was the oldest.  His youngest brother is just 5 years older than me.  We grew up very close to each other so that is why I am 45 and I have cousins that are still in elementrary school- crazy I know!1)  Any hoo- Maureen is graduating.  My boys LOVE Maureen becuase she baby sits for us.  I don't know what we are going to do this fall when she leaves because  she will be going off to college.  Any hoo again! LOL!  There is a huge party and all my aunts and uncles and cousins will be coming.  So excited!

I also hope to get some scrapping in.  I got some new kits from Cord Scrapbook Studio and I want to get started.  It looks like for July I will be working with Imaginisce and Little Yellow Bicycle- Sounds Awesome right?

Well, You  know that CHA is just around the corner and manufacturers are getting ready to reveal their new products for the fall and winter.  Well Moxxie has some sneaky peeks of their upcoming collections.  I have 3 of them for you today!  I have to say they are pretty awesome.  There is a Winter colleciton, Birthday, and Halloween.  I think you are going to find them very fun!

I will have more peeks for you next week!

No on to my card for the day!  Last week I showed you a layout that I made using the Plumeria collection. For my card I wanted to highlight the feminine side to the line.  I just love that purple flower!  So pretty, and of course I had to add a butterly.  I am totally addicted!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back on Monday with a new project!  See you then!  Have a wonderful and scrappy weekend!

Thursday Butterflies and Mist

Happy Thursday,

What are your favorite colors these days?  I have to say I am really stuck on grey, yellow and blue.  I can't get enough of them!  I was wanting a super quick project the other day.  I needed a break from DT work so I brought out one of my scrap bags filled with My Mind's Eye goodies and I created this card.

First I used the grey and white checked paper.  I wanted to jazz it up a bit and I used my Studio Calico mask and sprayed it heavily and lightly in certain areas with Heirloom Blue from Studio Calico.  I let it dry and then I cut out different sizes of butterflies (I don't know about you but I LOVE butterflies).  The smaller ones I wrapped twine around the middle.  I then added some letter stickers by Cosmo Cricket and I called it a day.  I really love projects that take less then 30 minutes from start to finish!

mist & mask- Studio Calico

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with a new layout.  See you then!

Wednesday WOYWW 6/27/12

Happy Wednesday!

How is your week going?  We have been busy but the boys and I have been having a good week.  The boys have camp for the rest of the week so I plan on getting some housework and scrappin' in!

Today I am linking up with Julia at the Stamping Ground.  This is a great place to see into people's scrap rooms. I have a lot on my desk right now.  I have been working on some DT work for Kite Tails.

If you have been following me for any length of time you will know that I hate a messy desk but I am in the middle of 2 projects with this collection so the desk is a bit messy.  LOL!!  If you look on the desk you can see my new reader glasses.  It is official- when I craft I now need my readers.  I think I am going to have to get a leash for them to wear around my neck when I craft because I always seem to be misplacing.  Does anyone else seem to have that problem?

Thanks for stopping by today!  I will be back tomorrow with a new card using My Minds Eye!  See you then!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Tuesday Trucks

Happy Tuesday!

Last month I was a guest over at Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker and I had so much fun playing with the Noah collection.  This line was just perfect for this layout.  Back in March Jack really wanted to go to the Monster Truck show and they were in town.  The tickets were reasonable and children were 1/2 off so we decided to go!  Jack had a ball.  He loved seeing the Gravedigger!  When we were done seeing the show Jack yelled, "That was totally awesome!"  So I used that for my title!  Now we all had fun but we all agreed that once was enough for us! LOL!!

On this layout I included Jack's ticket stub.  I like to use real things when I have them or when I remember to keep them.  It always adds to the embellishments!

Monday Class at Cord

Happy Monday!

How was your weekend?  Ours was busy busy busy and very difficult.  You know our family made the decision to get a puppy this week.  Well, we had to make another difficult decision to find Molly a new home this weekend.  Who knew that I would be allergic to her.  I am the one who grew up with Golden Retrievers and has had 2 dogs living on my own ( a yellow lab and a golden). Well, Tuesday night I started sneezing.  On Wednesday I was a mess!  Thursday morning my eyes were swollen shut.  I was a mess.  My doctor said that a person can develop an allergy at any time.  Our house has been dog free for over a year and in this time I guess I developed one.  We had a lot of tears- Jack was heartbroken, but we found Molly a new home with Jeff's assistant.  She is in love with her and she sent us photos and they seem very happy!  Other than that drama we had soccer, baseball, swimming etc

I do have to share a photo that I took of Jack in our backyard.  He decided to play Coach Pitch baseball this summer and this is him practicing in the backyard.
He looks so serious.  I can't wait to scrap it!

This Saturday I have a class coming up at Cord Scrapbook Studio in Columbus, Ohio.  For this class I am using the Echo Park Hello Summer Collection to make a 2 page layout and 2 cards.  For the class you will get all the cardstock, paper, directions and color photos in the kit!  It is sure to be a lot of fun. The class starts at 10:30- 12:30.  If you can I would love for you to join us!  Please call (614)505-7019.

If you can't make the class you can order a kit.  For those of you who live to far away- you might want to call the phone number and order a kit and it can be shipped to you!

I am really excited about this new class.  I just finished my demos for July's class and it really rocks!  It is going to be a Jillibean Soup Card class featuring the Coconut Lime collection.  I can't wait to show you next month!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with a new project!  See you then!

Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Friday

Happy Friday,

When Cord Scrapbook Studio gave me the Plumeria kit from Basic Grey I was a bit nervous because I haven't really liked anything from them in awhile, and I thought it was very girly.  I had it on my desk for a couple of days and then I picked this photo and started to play. Once I started playing I started to really love this paper.

This is a photo I took of my boys when they were playing together.  I love it when they play together and are nice to one another (versus the fighting that usually takes place!).

Do you have any crafty plans  this weekend?  I am hoping to get a bit in.  I have a DT assignment I need to get started and then I would like to scrap some kindergarten photos to finish up Jack's year.  Because believe it or not the first day of first grade is just around the corner.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I will be back on Monday with a new project!  See you then.

Thursday New Addition

Happy Thursday!

I am pleased to announce the newest addition to the Siehl Family-----Molly!
She is an 11 week old Goldendoodle.  I am totally in love!  I have been wanting another dog for awhile.  Bailey has been gone for over a year now.  I have always had golden retrievers and labrador retrievers but the amount of shedding and hair all of the house was really getting to me--sooooo I found the Goldendoodle.  She is just so precious I can't take it.  She is the best little girl ever! We got her late in the afternoon on Tuesday!  The boys were away at camp all day on Wednesday so the two of us just hung out.   I can't wait to scrap that adorable face!!

I do have a quick card to share with you today as well.  This is a quick card that I made using the Bella Blvd Sunshine and Happiness collection.  This came together so easily!

Wednesday Mini Part Two

Happy Wednesday!

How is your week going?  I have been busy so far.  This is my week of doctor apts. that I have put off till the summer, but all is going well!  It has been really hot here so the boys and I have been downstairs a bit this week so I have been able to create some!  I love it when that happens!!

As I mentioned yesterday- I made my first mini album for Cord Scrapbook Studio featuring the Baby Boy collection.  I stepped out of my comfort zone and had a lot of fun.  Today I will be featuring the second 1/2 of the book.

I so love this photo of Michael!

I tried to make each page a little different but using the same paper helped carry the theme in the mini book!  I really had a lot of fun!  I plan on doing another little mini real  soon.  I even think maybe a mini for a christmas present for my mother in law - we shall see!  The good thing is I am no longer afraid of the mini album!!

Tuesday Mini Part One

Happy Tuesday!

Do you have a comfort zone when you paper craft?  I know I do for sure!  I love to scrap and I love to make cards.  I am pretty solid in those areas; however, mini albums are WAY out of my comfort zone.  I don't know why.  I guess it is because I have never tried one before.  I have seen soo many talented ladies make them but I have never tried it.  So I don't know about you but I wanted to do something different in my paper crafting so I decided to try my hand at a mini album.  For my first attempt I was pleased-- is it totally awesome?  No, but I do like it!  I decided to make a mini album of Michael.  I took my favorite photos of him throughout his first year and created his first year book.  I have not scrapped a lot of these photos before because I was having a hard time adjusting to a new little baby at 42 years old and recovering from the loss of my father.  I did not scrap at all for his first year- SO I thought I would make this mini and I am so glad I did!

The book measures 4x6 and uses the Baby Boy collection from Bella Blvd.  This mini was made for Cord Scrapbook Studio. Here are the first 4 months!

Everything is Bella Blvd.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will have part two of my mini tomorrow.  See you then!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Back on Monday!

Happy Monday,
Well, I am back!  Last week we took our annual vacation to Florida!  We had a really great time.  The boys had so much fun at the beach and pool. It was wonderful.  We even took a scenic yacht dinner cruise through the intercoastal waters of Ft. Lauderdale and it was so much fun.  Fun time by all.  The only thing I missed though was the internet.  The condo doesn't have the internet.  So I was going a little batty without it. LOL!

Before I left on vacation I was so busy getting so many different projects completed!  So I have so much NEW stuff coming you way!  Cord Scrapbook Studio was keeping me busy and boy was I loving every minute of it.  I was able to play with some really fun lines.

First up was the new collection from Bella Blvd.  Baby Boy.  I LOVED this line.  Today I am going to share my layout that I did using this collection.  I used some old baby photos of Michael swinging on a warm spring day.  He was not even one yet.  He was just so happy.  He has always had the best smile!  I just loved all the papers in this collection.  I really loved the grey chevron piece and I used that as my background paper and then layered all the other pattern pieces on top.  I added some fun stamped clouds and of course some Mister Huey!  It seems I can't create without using some paint- LOL!

Thursday Father's Day Part One

Father's Day is fast approaching and I have made some fun altered items for my hubby this father's day.  First the boys are getting him a couple of presents so I made this gift bag for them to use.  I love gift bags because you don't have to get out all the wrapping paper etc.  Then I made a matching card for the boys to give to hubby!

I had a lot of fun making these projects for when I guest over at Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker.  I just loved working with the Noah collection.

For this card I used my Silhouette to create the card and tie!  Very simple Very easy!!!
Here I made a quick and easy card for my wonderful hubby!  I used all my scraps.  I love it when that happens.

Here is a quick card I made using the Faith collection from Moxxie.  For this card I  layered the pattern paper and then used one of the fabulous die cut tags for the centerpiece.  I printed the sentiment and pop dotted that on.  Next I wanted to add a bit of bling and added the pearls.  Finally I added a bit of twine!!

Thursday Swoon Card

Happy Thursday,

Are you having a good week?  So far so good here.  We have been really busy! but I will take summer busy over school year busy any day!!  I am going to try to take a couple days a week off from blogging for the next couple of weeks.  We have so many things going on and I have one huge thing that I want to accomplish this summer- RELAXATION time!!

I have had some time for scrapping lately.  I have been working on so many upcoming projects.  They are really fun but I can't share them quite yet, BUT I can share this wonderful card that I made for Cord Scrapbook Studio.  This is once again the SWOON collection from Little Yellow Bicycle.  At first I was a bit unsure of this collection because I didn't have wedding pictures to scrap but once I started playing with it I found it pretty easy to work with.  It definitely is very versatile!

Tuesday Start to Finish with Moxxie!

Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday over on the Moxxie blog was my debut!!  So I thought I would share my work here as well!  So let's get to it- o.k.??

Whenever I start a project I always make a sketch first.  So today I am going to share one of my sketches.
With this sketch I knew I wanted to work with the Faith Collection.  Jack is going on 7 years old and I had never found the perfect paper to scrap his Baptism.  Well, Moxxie had it.  This line is perfect and the name of the collection says it all- Faith!

So with the sketch I cut out all my different layers of paper and I sewed around the edges. You can't really tell that I machine stitched around the edges-- but I did.
Next I knew I needed to add a bit of mist and paint.  With the way the sketch was designed I wanted to keep the visual diagonal going on the paper so I added some paint in the top right and the bottom left.  I added 3 different colors from Mister Huey by Studio Calico- Heirloom Blue, Powder Blue and Shine.  These colors really matched the paper well.

I liked how the colors really pop on the light paper.

Now it was time to add all the pieces together.
The border strip is one of the Faith collection Die Cut Border strips.  It worked perfectly.  I love how everything looked so I glued everything down and all I need to do was add my photos, title, and journaling.

Here is the final look!
I really liked how it turned out!

Hope you enjoyed my Start to Finish with Moxxie!  I will have a new Start to Finish every month with a new sketch!

I will be back on Thursday with a new project!  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Monday I love you!

Happy Monday!

Did you have a great weekend?  Oh, I most certainly did!  Saturday I was able to get some really good scrapping in.  I was able to work with the new We R Memory Keepers Love 2 Craft collection, and let me tell you this line is a MUST have.  I was creating 3 projects for Cord Scrapbook Studio.  I can't wait to show you my DT work.  Then on Sunday we drove up to Columbus, Ohio to go to the Zoo.  This zoo is so amazing.  We had the best day!!!

Last month one of my projects from Cord Scrapbook Studio was to create with the amazing Swoon collection from Little Yellow Bicycle.  This line is just beautiful!!  I used the 5 things I love about you little envelopes.  They were so  much fun to work with.  I made this about my hubby!!  I really like how it turned out!

Friday

Happy Friday!

My last day of school.  I thought it would never arrive.  This year I just completed my 23rd year in teaching, and I have to say it has been my most difficult.  I am VERY thankful that I have some time to regroup, and refocus.  I  love what I do  more than anything but WOW do I need a break!

On to other things now!! This is the last day of my 2 page layout week and I have to say I saved my favorite for last.  For this layout I used my photos of Jack playing in the sprinkler last summer.  Running in the sprinkler was his favorite thing to do at night and I LOVED seeing him so happy!  I thought the Bella Blvd. Sunshine and Happiness was the perfect collection for these photos.
