St. Patrick's Day Card

Happy Wednesday!

When I think of St. Patrick's day I think of two things: First. Spring!!  I love spring.  Everything is just starting to bloom.  The warmer temperatures are my favorite and just happiness. Second my father.  My maiden name is O'Brien-(yep, now you know why I love St. Patrick's day--Irish!!!) and my father LOVED St. Patrick's day.  My mom and dad would dress up.  My dad had these awesome green pants with embroidered shamrocks on them.  A green vest and a fantastic hat.  He also had leprechaun ears and shoes.  He looked awesome.  I have been going through the family pictures trying to find a picture of him but so far I have not had much luck.  My parents weren't really big on pictures, but I do have my memories.

So for my family I have made some St. Patrick's day cards.  I made one for my mother and then I made a couple others for my family.  For the cards I used Little Yellow Bicycle's Lucky line from last year.  I bought this line last year and used every drop of it and then I won a contest from LYB and they sent me the entire line--oh yeah! So I now have tons to use for years to come.  I will never tire of this line.

For my mother's card I added some of the epoxy stickers to it.  I love the Celtic patterns in it!  A lot of the time when I have large titles or large die cuts I use my krylon spray adhesive and I have never had a problem--until this card.  For some reason this shamrock got too much adhesive and when I placed it on the cardstock the glue squished out--so it left some marks on it.  I am glad this is going to my mother because she will understand and probably won't notice--thank goodness -- but the perfectionist in me wanted to redo it but I just didn't have the time--

The inside of the card I used the journaling strips. I love this saying.  It is one of my favorites.  For the greeting I used one of my Hero Arts greeting stamp sets.
Here is the scaled down version that I am sending out to my friends and family.

Don't forget to go HERE to enter my giveaway of a $10 gift card to Michael's. You can create your own prize.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow with a new layout.

Mud

Happy Tuesday!

Even though we were so busy and I didn't get much sleep I was very creative this weekend. I love it when that happens.  I was on a mission to organize a bit of my paper.  I always keep my paper lines together.  I don't seperate them.  So I organized by collection and then put them together by manufacturer. I have one container just of Basic Grey and another of Imaginisce.  I have another one started for Little Yellow Bicycle.  This is going to be an ongoing process.  I always keep everything organized, but  I now want it even simpler for me.  I want to know immediately where a paper collection is versus just randomly placed.

I was also able to scrap a card for a challenge and made 2 layouts from my own sketches.  I love it when the mojo is flowing and I just get busy.  The kids were awesome because they for some reason played together. That NEVER happens for more than 5 minutes and then the fighting begins--Michael wanting everything that Jack has, but for some reason that didn't happen.

MUD
At the end of the summer, we all went over to our friends house.  Matt lives out in the country and has lots of land.  He is thinking of raising chickens and goats for his son's 4H program.  Well he has his own stocked pond and he has a dune buggy.  Well we all wanted to ride in it.  The problem was that it had rainded earlier and the ground was really wet, but that didn't stop us.  We all took our turns in the buggy and went for a ride.  We didn't realize that mud was splashing all over us.  When Jack got back from his turn he was covered with mud.  It was crazy.  Well Jack had never really played in the mud and he was so funny because he kept saying how dirty he was and how he loved it.
For the title I again made my own chipboard letters using my Silhouette.

Supplies
cardstock:  bazzill

Happy Monday!

Good Morning,

Oh what a weekend!  Hubby was in Arizona so it was just me and the boys, and I have to tell you I am exhausted!  Michael woke up every night around 2-3:00 AM and wouldn't go back to sleep till 3:30- 4:00.  He is killing me.  Does anyone have any tips on what to do?  I am going crazy!!! Then it rained all weekend so we were in the house the whole time.  Thank goodness for my mom who came over on Saturday and Sunday to help out with the boys and help keep them busy.  I have yet to see hubby because he got in late Sunday night and I get up and leave for work before anyone is up.  I can't wait to see.  Boy, did I miss him!!!

Well as promised--once I reached 100 followers I would have a new giveaway.  This one is a fun one because it is a $10 gift certificate to Michael's. With your gift card you can pick out whatever you want.  I would use a coupon and get 2 ATG refills (I am totally addicted to buying these).  What would you buy? In order to win you must:
1. be signed up to follow my blog
2. leave a comment by March 13th on this post.   I will used random.org to pick a winner and I will announce the winner on my blog on Monday march 14th.
And that is it! So what are you waiting for?  Let's get entered!!!!

Again I just wanted to say THANKS to all of you for following me and taking the time out of your day to write such kind words.  It means so much to me!

Two Months

This is a layout I did for Michael when he was just two months old.  We had his picture professionally taken.  I just love little baby photos!  The colors are so light because of the light blue background.  I used the making memories line.  I just love this baby line.  I still have a little bit left to finish up some of Michael's pages.
I used the embellies that came with the line.  I just love the cute little animals.  I also broke out my doodlebug rub ons for the title.

Supplies
cardstock:  bazzill
pattern paper:  making memories
embellies:  making memories
rub ons:  doodlebug

I hope everyone has a good day!  I will be back tomorrow well rested (hubby gets to get up in the middle of the night to deal with my little bugger! hehehehehhee) and I will have a new layout for you!

Thanks again for stopping by!

Set of 3 Birthday Cards + Frugal Friday Tip

Happy Friday,

I am happy for the weekend to be here!  I have a sort of busy weekend planned.  On Saturday I am getting my hair cut and the grocery store and then on Sunday registration begins for Jack's kindergarten after church.  Jack will also be able to go through the classrooms and meet the teachers etc.  I think it will be really fun!  My mom is coming along to help me with Michael (who is turning out to be a handful these days!!)  Thank goodness for mom's help!

I also am planning on getting some work done in my scrap room.  I have been working on sketches and I  have a ton of them in my book and I now I just want to play with them.

I have been on a card making kick lately, and this is a really super easy card set that I made.  I had some left over Imaginisce Birthday Bash rub ons and didn't know what to do with them so I made this very plain and simple card set.  I really like how it turned out.

Over at Scrap Our Stash they have a series on Friday called Frugal Fridays.  I have a post up on how to save some $$$.  I don't want to spill my tip here.   It has to do with the card set from today.  I used a money saving tip on them! Sooooo if you want to find out what the tip is hop on over and see what my Frugal Friday Tip!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday and weekend.  I will be back on Monday with a new layout.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Good Morning Everyone!

Hi there and happy Thursday!

I just wanted to pop in and say that the layout that I was going to use for today's post was picked up by Scrapstreet magazine.  It was for their monthly sketch.  I am so over the top excited!  I can't believe my work is going to be published.  It will be in there May issue!  So needless to say I will be posting this layout in May!

Well I am exhausted today!  Michael woke up at 2:30 (maybe a bad dream or something -- who knows) and we have always just let the kids cry it out and get themselves back to sleep, but this did not work at all.  He was up till 4:00 AM.  Now I get up to get ready for work at 4:45 AM.  He really killed me last night.  I rocked and rocked him.  He would drift off to sleep and then as soon as he hit the bed he screams "I want Mommy back".  Oh my!

Nothing else is new here.  Same old same old.  I like that though!  Still trying to figure out what to have for dinner tonight.  I am thinking about Breakfast for Dinner.  Everyone loves this one.  I

Well I hope everyone has a great day! I will be back tomorrow with a new post and a new set of cards.  I have a post on Scrap Our Stash for $$Frugal Friday Tips$$.  You will want to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by and I will see ya tomorrow!

Sophie's Card

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

Well we did it -- we reached 100 followers.  As promised I will be holding a new giveaway starting on Monday.  It once again involves on of my favorite things!  What could it be?  mmmmmmmmmmm You will have to wait and see on Monday!

I don't know about you, but the week is just marching on.  I love it!  Thankfully it has also been a really quiet week too.  I have been picking the boys up right after school and getting them home and then I have been working out in the basement with them there.  Jack is my helper and tries to keep Michael from getting too close to the machines.  I love being able to work out with them there.  I can still talk to them and just "BE" with them!! That is one of the reasons why I hate going to the gym etc because I have to be away from the kids.  Now I have the best of both worlds.

My  Goddaughter Sophie looks forward to my birthday cards that I send her.  Her mom always tells me that Sophie looks forward to my cards so I like to spend a little extra time on them.  So for this one I broke out all my Hero Arts stamps along with my copics.

1.  First I stamped a 4x4 card with the background stamp using the Hero Arts chalk ink.
2. Next I punched the scalloped circle and circle (on neenah solar white).
3.  I stamped the image of the girl and colored her with Copic markers.
4. I then made a mask of the little girl and placed it over her.
5.  Next I stamped the sky and grass (again using my Hero Arts stamps)
6.  Next I stamped and cut out the message bubble and then added the Hi
7.  On the inside I stamped the greeting Happy Birthday

Supplies
Hero Arts, memento, copic

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will be back tomorrow with a new layout!

Treats for Santa

Happy Tuesday,

Wow I can't believe it--I have 99 followers.  Once I hit 100 I am planning another giveaway!  So let's hit 100.  This could be the week!  I know I say it all the time but you all are awesome.  Your kind words mean so much to me.  I am truly honored that you all come to visit me and my scrappin' everyday.

Do you remember my giveaway with the Imaginisce Snag Em Stamps?  Well Becky won them and yesterday on her blog she posted the cutest cards that she made with the stamps.  You got to check them out!  She is very creative!!!

Well I had a busy day yesterday.  I dropped off the papers to Jack's Doctor to fill them out and sign for his Kindergarten registration.  I am both so excited for him and then on the other hand so sad that my baby is growing up.  I know he is so ready to go.  He talks about going to school etc.  I think he is so excited. I know he really wants to start learning.  I work with him after school but he needs more that I can give in the short amount of time we have.  We still haven't decided exactly where he will be going--our local public school district or our local private school.  So for right now we are registering him at both and then we will decide.  Big Decisions!!!

Treat for Santa

I found this adorable plate 6 years ago and I bought it in hopes when we had kids they would use it.  All around the plate it says Treats for Santa.  For the last couple of years Jack and I make cookies for Santa.  He loves to decorate them.  This is the before and after.  On Christmas morning Jack runs down and looks for the plate first to see if Santa ate his cookies.  It is so cute.  For this layout I used the Imaginisce Christmas Cottage line.  I thought it was perfect for this layout.
I used my Silhouette to create the title. I welded the words together and  I used the adorable chipboard embellies.

supplies:  bazzill, imaginisce, ek success punches, white gel pen

Well I hope everyone has a fantastic day! I will be back tomorrow for my Wednesday Card.  It is a real cute one (just my opinion).  Thanks so much for stopping by!
