An Odd Girl Wednesday Card

Hello and Welcome to Siehled With A Kiss!

What's new?  I just keep marching on!  I can't wait till the weekend!  That is so bad that I am already exhausted and it is only Wednesday.  Oh well I will get through.  I am just finding out how hard it is to have a child in school and work.  I thought it would get easier but it is not.  I work a half hour away from home and Jack's school is 15 minutes further north.  I leave school immediately to drive up north to be in the car pool pick up line (if I don't get there by 3:00 Jack is waiting close to 45 minutes in the school for me) and wait for about 25 minutes then we have to book it back 15 minutes south to go pick up Michael at his daycare and then we drive 10 more minutes home.  I am exhausted by the end of all this.  I don't know if I can keep this up for 175 more days (hey who is counting how many days there are left in the year-hehehehehehe).

I have been on a challenge kick lately!  And there was an awesome challenge over at Some Odd Girl Stamps.  Click HERE to get all the details.  Basically the idea is to use up your scraps!  How awesome is that!  Here is my take on the sketch.

The sentiment says "your're the best"  Sorry so blurry--don't know what happened!

Well I will be back tomorrow with part 2 of the Basic Grey series.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Basic Grey Part One

Happy Tuesday,
As I have mentioned before one of the things that I do at my lss is to help make some of the displays to help sell the product.  Last week I had the Basic Grey card kit to make.  The kit used the Oxford line.  The purpose of the display was to show that this line is very versatile and that it doesn't just have to be for school layouts and cards.  Here is the first batch in my series

I really love those glasses!

Sorry for the bad angle on this one.

I love this one.

Nothing really exciting going on here.  Same old Same old.  It is funny at how quickly we have fallen back into our routine.  It seems like the summer was so long ago.  I am adjusting well at my new school.  I really don't have time to think about anything.  I teach 6 periods straight and my planning bell isn't until 7th period.  So I don't even have a second.  This is good because the time flies!

I really don't have any scrapping plans for this week.  I have a layout started to I hope to finish this and that is about it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I really appreciate all your lovely comments!  I will be back tomorrow with my Wednesday card.  See you then.

A Jillibean Challenge

Happy Monday Everyone!

I know I said I wasn't feeling the mojo but Friday night we were all in the basement and my mojo hit me because I saw an awesome sketch over at Jillibean Soup.  My creativity started to flow and I new I had to participate.  It was a great sketch.

Julyjbsoupsketch500

For my take I combined a couple of different lines (Blossom, Spotted Owl, and Chilled Strawberry).  This is a layout of our local YMCA Easter Egg Hunt.  You have to get there early in order to find a parking place and this year the weather was horrible.  It was cold, windy and raining.  It seemed like we were waiting forever for the hunt to begin.  These are a couple of pictures of Jack getting ready.  He was so excited!

Supplies
cardstock- bazzill
Everything else is Jillibean Soup

I hope everyone has a fantastic day.  I will be back tomorrow with part one of my mini series of my Basic Grey card display for the store.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  See ya soon!

A Doodle Challenge

Oh Yes it is Friday!!!!!!!!

Who is excited that today is Friday?  I know I am.  I am exhausted!!!  Does anyone have any exciting plans? Not here--thanks goodness.  We are just relaxing! The weather is supposed to be awesome so we will be outside.

Any crafting plans?  Not here.  I taking some time off.  I worked like a dog all summer on my classes, work for the store, and with some orders of cards that I am taking a bit of time just to relax after school and hang with my boys.  If I feel motivated than I  might make something.  I can't stay away for too long.hehehehehehe

When I first started scrapping I mainly used cardstock but then the owner of my local scrap store showed me this beautiful baby collection and I fell in love instantly.  It was Doodlebug Design.  I thought it was awesome.  For a birthday present my husband bought me 5 sheets of every bazzill cardstock that matched the line.  I was in heaven!!!  Well anyway --- they now have a blog and and they have started doing some sketches (they call them doodles).  Well you know how I love challenges so I just had to make a card using their first doodle.

Very cute design. no?  Well I had to break into my stash and I put together this little card.  I really like how it turned out. Here is my take on the sketch. Just had to add a touch of bling on the heart.  I am going to put this in my hubby's lunch next week.  I can't wait!!
Supplies
cardstock-doodlebug, neenah solar white
die cut-doodlebug, quickutz
stamp-hero arts

tools-ek success border punch, sewing machine
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I will be back on Monday with a ton of cards featuring Basic Grey Oxford.  I had to do a display for the store using their card kit. I made 12 cards last weekend.  Thanks so much for stopping by! You all are the best!

Echo Park Fresh Face Challenge

Hey Everyone,

Once again Echo Park is having their Fresh Face Campaign.  Echo Park is such a fun company.  I love that their kits contain everything you need to make dozens of projects.  With fall fast approaching I thought I would start off with a couple of Halloween Projects.

Pumpkin Carving

I love to layer my pattern paper, and for this layout I used 6 different pieces.   I love to frame my  pattern paper with cardstock,  In this case I matted the main pieces in black.  I then arranged my photos ( I like to use 4x6 photos) on my 10x10 square.  I then added some strips to set off the photos from my journaling.  At the top I made some file tabs and added some additional journaling. For the title I used the alphabet stickers that came with the line.  I love how these coordinated.

supplies
cardstock-bazzill
mini paper clips- tim holtz
Everthing else is Echo Park

Halloween card

For this I card I used my scraps from the above project.  I am a very frugal scrapper and will not throw away the smallest piece because I know I can use it on another project.  I have tons of little frugal tips!

Supplies
paper and sticker- Echo Park
die cut- Silhouette
stamp- Hero Arts
ink- hero arts

My final project- 1-2-3 Jump

I loved the Splash line for the summer pool photos.  In this layout I used a bunch of the cardstock stickers that come in the collection pack.  I placed the big swirl under the picture of my husband and son jumping in the pool to give off the feeling of them splashing into the water.  The cardstock stickers are always my faves!

Supplies
cardstock- bazzill
 paper- Echo Park
stickers- Echo Park
alphabet- American Crafts thickers
banner- Jenni Bowlin
buttons- Doodlebug
twine- Paper trey Ink

I want to thank Echo Park for taking the time to look at my projects and considering my work!

I hope everyone has a great day today! I will be back tomorrow with a fun card! See ya all then!

Wednesday Card

Happy Wednesday!

My school district has 2 days of inservice and then we have the 3rd day off before the kids start on the 4th day. So I am so excited that I get to take Jack to Kindergarten.  He said he had a really great day yesterday.  He has 15 in his class and he loved it.  So today I am taking all the pictures of both Jack and Michael who starts Early PreSchool 2.  I will have tons and tons of pictures.

As mentioned  last week that I needed to make a couple of  project using the new 3 Bugs in a Rug for the store.  Here is the card that I made using the scraps.  I just love the little tag of the 2 turtles.  Just so cute.  I made the heart using my Silhouette.

Supplies
Everything is 3 Bugs in a Rug

I hope everyone has a fantastic day today?  Does anyone have any scrappin' plans?  I am going to try but who knows.  I have a ton of laundry and then I am going to work on some school stuff.  I always get a bit nervous for the first day of school with kids.  I know this is silly even with this being my 23rd year but I always get the butterflies.  Going just to try to stay calm!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by.  I truly appreciate all your comments.  It means so much! Thanks!!!  See you tomorrow with another new project!

Imaginisce Monthly Challenge- August

Hello!

Well it is time for my monthly Imaginisce challenge.  This month Becky Fleck from Page Mags came up with a sketch for us to use.  The goal-use this sketch using Imaginisce products.

I love Becky's sketches.  They are always so much fun and it was perfect for my layout.  A couple of weeks ago I was at Michael's and Jack saw this volcano building kit.  I had an extra coupon so we got it.  Jack is really into the science kits.  So it was a couple days of work.  Here is the first day (part one) on the family making the mold for the volcano.  Jack and Michael loved mixing the plaster.  They were so cute.  I knew this paper Dino Roar would be perfect for just this very thing.

supplies
all products are Imaginisce except- Cosmo Cricket mini alphabet and sewing machine

I hope everyone has a great day today.  Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow for my Wednesday card!  See you then!

A Monday Odd Challenge

Hey everyone,
Did you all have a great weekend?  We did.  We actually relaxed.  It was wonderful.  Saturday I went into the scrapbook store and dropped off some work and picked up some more.  It is never ending right now with all the CHA stuff coming in. The really we just hung out for the rest of the day.  Sunday we went to Jack's open house for kindergarten.  It was wonderful and he is so excited.  He starts on Tuesday.  I start back tomorrow.  We have 2 inservice days to start out.  I have plenty of stuff to do.

The new challenge is up over at Some Odd Girl.  This challenge we had to create a card using this color wheel.

The idea was to pick a primary and secondary color for the card.  I chose Red and Green.  This color scheme is perfect for my stamp--Prof Inch.  Here is my card:

I think the little inch worm is just too darn cute.  For this card I ran my red cardstock through my cuttlebug to emboss it just to give it a bit of texture.  I then stamped my ledger stamp using my Jenni Bowlin stamp ink.  I then added my sentiment and ran it through my border punch.  Next I added the apple sticker from Memory Works and and pop dotted my inch worm.  Finally I added some buttons in coordinating colors.

Supplies
cardstock- bazzill, neenah solar white
ink-Jenni Bowlin
stamps- Some Odd Girl, Hero Arts
markers- copic
buttons- paper trey ink
tools-ek success border punch, cuttlebug embossing folders

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow with a new layout. Hope you have a great day.  See ya then!

Summer's Last Friday

Hey Everyone,

Well for our household this is the last day of Summer.  Today I take Jack for a 2 hour new student orientation at his new school.  He is really excited.  He just met a couple more students from his summer camp that are going to the school as well.  Should be pretty fun!  After that I am not sure what the 3 of us will do for the rest of the day.  If it is nice maybe just hang out!

Any big plans for the weekend?  We really do not.  Saturday is completely open for us.  So I am not sure what we are going to do.  On Sunday we have open house at Jack's school from 12:30 - 1:30.  We are able to take in all his school supplies and see his classroom etc.

Any crafty plans? I hope to get in my scraproom and make a couple of layouts.  I need to make two layouts for Simply Scrapbooks.  I will be using the 3 Bugs in a Rug Under the Sea.  I have several beach photos that need to be scrapped.  I also have a couple of challenges that I need to work on as well.  So I should be busy!  Here is a quick picture of some of the paper.  Too cute!!!

Today over at Scrap Our Stash I am up with a my take on the August Challenge.  The challenge is to redo a layout or project from your past.  I have this thing--I talked about it before-- I don't redo!! Just a personal thing.  So I asked Kathy if I could do something else and she was awesome and said that I could show how my style has changed over the years.  So now that is fun!!!!  I highlight a layout I did over 8 years ago.  My st lye is basically the same (always has been)-clean and simple.  Back then there was not the amount of embellishments like today.  So I wanted to share a layout of my hubby and I in Spain on our honeymoon.  We put our heads in one of those cut outs for Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.  Then my layout for now is one that I did of the 2 of us for our anniversary.  So style is the same basically but now it is just bit jazzier I guess.  Click  HERE   to see the post.

Well I hope everyone has a fantastic day.  I will be back on Monday with another project.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  See ya soon!

Heading Back to School Card for Wednesday

Hello,
Well I have to say I am ALMOST ready in my new room and school.  Today I am going into my old school to see if my computer is ready to go to the new school and then I will head on over to the new school set up my computer and CD player.  I have one bulletin board left and then just some odds n ends.  We have 2 days of inservice on Monday and Tuesday and then I will be set!!  The school is very intimidating.  It is a 10-12 building that has 2100 students--yes that is correct 2100 students.  That is larger than my college.  It is crazy!

For the heading back to school mode.  I have a quick card that I made with Karen Foster paper.

Now with Jack starting Kindergarten next week  I need to have on hand several teacher thank you cards.

supplies
cardstock-bazzill
paper- Karen Foster
die cut-Tim Holtz
ink- Time Holtz distress ink

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will see you again soon!

Monday Again!

Wow did this weekend fly by or what?  I blinked and it was time to make Sunday dinner.  Did you all get any crafting in this weekend?  I did not.  I hung out with the family all weekend and then did a touch of school work.

Today over at Burlap and Buttercups I am up with my new monthly challenge. Each month I will design a new sketch and then have a little twist.  I would love for you all to come over and stop by to see the sketch and my challenge.  Click    HERE    to see the post.  You don't have to have the August kit to play along. There is a great prize package you could win as well--some fun stamps, tape, alphabets and more.  So hopefully I will see you there!

Oh yeah Friday

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all the well wishes about my move. I have worked like a dog and at least now my room is at the new school.  Next week will be unpacking and decorating the room plus making lesson plans for the new class.  5 days left-I think I can do it.

While I was at Crop A Doodle Do I completed this layout for my lss.  These are pictures from our vacation at Lion Country Safari.
I thought the paper was perfect for the pictures.

Supplies
cardstock-bazzill
paper- Best Creations
brads-doodlebug

Today I am taking the boys down to Cincinnati to go to the Lego Store.  I said I would take them during the summer and wow we only have a couple of days left to we are going to spend a couple of hours there.  Then we are going to lunch somewhere--if I know my boys then they will want to go to McDonald's.  McDonald's is a special treat place for them so they always like it--me on the other hand would like some place different but it is their day.

Any plans for the weekend?  We really do not.  It is awesome. Plus we are supposed to have great weather.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you back on Monday!

Keeping with the Rock theme Wednesday!

Hi All,

Where has the summer gone?  I have eight more days till school starts.  I just found out that I am being moved to a different high school.  So I have 8 days to pack up all my things and move them (myself) to the new building and set up.  Plus I will be teaching a new course and I have to just get all the basics ready--first day material etc.  Don't get me wrong--I am very thankful I have a job --and one that I love but this just adds a ton of stress to my last days of summer.  YUCK!  Needless to say--I am taking a couple days off the blog here and there to get things going on the school front.

Have you all been crafty lately?  I have been trying, but I seem to have a mojo block this week.  I think it is all the stuff I have been thinking about--work, jack starting school and just being away from the kids all day.  Maybe I just need a rest--SORRY to be complaining.  I like for Siehled With A Kiss to be a happy fun place--so no more talk of stress!!!!!!

On to my Wednesday card.  For my lss I needed to make a ton of cards for a lot of the lines in the store.  One of them was Best Creations.  This line is great for teens both boy and girl.  Here is the card:

supplies
paper- best creations
cardstock- bazzill

I have to say (I am being honest here) I really did not like how this turned out.  This was the last one in a bunch and I really did not put the effort in.  I was tired.  What do you do when you know something is not quite up to  par with what you usually do--do you just keep it the way it is or do you go back and redo it?  I do not redo it anything--why?  I guess I just believe that this is the way I made it and that is it--but I would be interested in what you all do.

Jack loved the black and white because it had little skulls.  He thought it was "totally cool!"

Hope everyone has a fantastic day.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

An Odd Tuesday Challenge

Hey there,

Well did we all make it through yesterday.  I have to say I was so disorganized yesterday.  I didn't make any lists of things to do and I just bounced from one thing to another.  I NEED lists to keep me on track.  So first thing this morning I am making a list of things to do today and for the rest of the week.

This is what I made yesterday!  I just love these digi stamps from Some Odd Girl.  I love them because there are such awesome boy images.  These are very hard to find.  This stamp is Rockin Kody.  I think he is just adorable.

supplies
cardstock- bazzill, neenah solar white
paper- imaginisce
bling- imaginisce

Have a great day!

I'm Back!!! Basic Grey Mini Album Part 2

Hello!
Wow it feels like I have been gone forever!  I went to Crop A Doodle Do in Indiana for a couple of days this past week.  It was fantastic.  I scrapped for 3 days straight.  I completed 50 cards ( I had an order to fulfill), a display for my lss and then finally I got to scrap for myself and I completed 6 layouts.  I loved it!  Here are a couple of pictures!  I highly recommend doing a little scrap vacation if you have one close.  This was about 2 hours from my house.

Before I left I showed you part one of the Basic Grey mini album I completed.  Today I am showing you the second part.
