Giving Thanks

Happy Thursday!

As you know on Thursdays here at Siehled With A Kiss I usually post about what I am working on; however, there is nothing on my desk again.  Tomorrow I am going to my once a month Friday crop and I have my desks all cleaned and my kits all made for the night.  I have 5 kits made so hopefully I will be able to get to all of them; however, my girlfriend is back and she is coming so I am sure we will be talking a bunch.  Hey, if I can get 3 of them complete I will be happy. I have 1 card kit and 4 layouts.

I also am excited about going to the crop to find out when all the CHA new lines are coming out and when they will be in the store.  I totally have to save my pennies because there are so many new lines that I want, but I also have to use up some more of my stash.  I don't have anymore room for more paper so I better get scrapping and use up my stash.

Give Thanks
This is a layout I made last month. ( I am taking a bit of a break from the challenges.  I plan on entering a couple this month but I want to concentrate on my own work.)

I have to say I love this layout.  I used all my scraps from the Imaginisce line.  I also love it because of the picture.  It is one of my all time favs!

One of the things that I am most thankful for is my mother.  She is so many things to me: a mother, a friend, a hero, a mentor, and the list goes on and on.  I love that we have moved closer and my boys get to see her every week.  It is so cute how excited they get when I tell them that she is coming over.  I love it.  I had such a close relationship with my grandparents growing up and I want the same for my kids.

Love all the buttons and brads!

I just love all the little matching embellisments in this line.  I also combined a bunch of my Basic Grey buttons and brads on the layout.

supplies
bazzill, imaginisce,  tim holtz ink and mini clips, basic grey buttons and brads, paper trey ink twine, ek success punches

Well I hope everyone has a great day.  I will be back tomorrow with another layout.  Thanks for stopping by!

p.s.  to all my new followers--thanks so much! i am honored that you would want to follow me.  Your kind comments brighten my day.  thanks again!

3rd Valentine

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

This week is moving right along.  So far so good for me.  I like uneventful weeks.  It is cold but there is not any snow or ice in the forecast.  Thank goodness.  Both boys have got a cold again.  They seem to get one, get better and then catch another.  Oh I can't wait for the warmer weather!!!

Well once again I used my Penny Black stamps from last week., but this time I used the little girl.  Isn't she just adorable.  I love her little dress and sweater.  Way too cute.  I also used the Paper Trey Ink background stamps on the kraft cardstock.  The red and kraft combination is great I think.  I love to color and using my copics is such fun.

Supplies
kraft cardstock, neenah solar white, bazzill
copic markers
penny black stamps, hero arts, paper trey ink
memento tuxedo black ink, hero arts chalk ink

On to the challenge.

I had so much fun with this sketch.  As soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to do.  The Out Takes of our family picture on Christmas morning.  Every year we take a picture with Santa hats.  I posted the picture on my blog.  In order to get one decent on we take about 30 of them.  I always like to do a blooper page because some of them are cuter than the actual.picture.

The Out Takes

For this I really dug deep into my stash and pulled out this really cute line of paper from Imaginisce.  I believe it came out 2-3 years ago.

The paper pack came with these adorable chipboard embellishments.  I thought they were so cute and the perfect accents.  For the letters I used Thickers.
Another look at the cute embellishments.
Supplies
paper, chipboard-Imaginisce
thickers
fiskars border punch
glossy accents

Well I hope everyone has a great day!  I will be back tomorrow with a look at my layout for the Scrap Our Stash challenge.  Click HERE to see the challenge.  You should really try it!

Next Monday I will be announcing the next giveaway!  Lots going on in February!

GYSO#5

Happy Friday!  TGIF!

I am soooo happy today is Friday.  What a stressful week with all the ice, snow power outages, freezing temperatures and then Jack--did I tell you what he did this week.  I was at school for about 2 hours and then I get a call that he was sick.  So I get my principal and secretary and tell them that Jack is sick and I need to go pick him up at school.  Well as soon as we all get home he is FINE!  He then admits that he was not sick and he made it up because he just wanted to stay home with me.  AARGH! I was so mad.  Leaving work is a hassle.  We have to find a sub to cover my classes and usually they can't find one so the have to get other teachers willing to give up their planning period to cover--not fun.  We had a long talk.  My heart just broke when he said he just wanted to be with me.  Needless to say I wasn't mad for long but the Wii was taken away for a week because he lied.

Well this is the 5th straight week I have played with the challenges over at Get Your Sketch On.  I am really like their sketches.  Here is this week's sketch.
Here is my take on the sketch:

Christmas Bears

Michael loves stuffed animals.  My mom for Christmas bought him these 2 bears.  He went crazy over them.  He named them Yellow Bear and Chocolate Bear.  These were pictures of him after he opened the presents.

For this layout I used the Echo Park Merry Christmas line.  Love that line!! I thought the colors were perfect for the colors in the picture.

I love this die cut sticker with the lights--way too cute!  I also used the border sticker of the holly.
I loved the letter stickers that came with the kit so I used a combination of all of them for the title.
In this corner I used the journaling tag and stamped Celebrate (an Ali Edwards stamp) and added another die cut of the presents.
For the actual journaling tag I used a nestabilities die cut and stamped it with the coordinating paper trey ink stamp.

Supplies
bazzill, echo park, paper trey ink, hero arts chalk ink, memento ink, ali edwards stamp

Well I hope everyone has a great weekend.  We have NOTHING planned.  I am so excited.  We are supposed to get more snow on Saturday but we shall see.  I know that whenever the kids are asleep I will be on the couch with a book and a fire going in the fireplace.  I am going to RELAX!!  How about you--what are your plans?

Don't forget to post a comment on this POST to enter to win a $40 gift certificate at the CSN stores.  I will pick a winner on Sunday and announce the winner in my Monday post.  I will also have a new layout to share as well.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you on Monday!

Nanny's Love

Happy Thursday,

Well I don't know about you all but I am ready for the weekend, but it is not here yet.  I can't wait!!

I have entered a bunch of challenges this past month and I really didn't have much time to work on my own stuff.  I was excited at the crop last Friday when I took all my own sketches and worked on pages just for me.  Don't get me wrong--I love the challenge sites!  They really get me motivated  and make me step out of my box, but sometimes I love coming up with my own designs etc. And this is one of them.

Nanny's Love

Several  months ago I posted this picture of my little Michael.  He wasn't feeling well and all he wanted was to be held.  My mom was over and she just held him.  It was so precious.  I love seeing my children with my mom.  She loves them so much and they love her so much.

For the embellishments I used the matching star brads and star stickers.  I also inked the edges of the the journaling strips and tag.
Supplies
cardstock:  bazzill
pattern paper and embelllies:  making memories

I hope everyone has an anwesome day today.  I will be back tomorrow with another layout.  Don't forget to go to Monday's post to enter the awesome CSN giveaway!

Thanks for stopping by!
