My Bailey & Zing Zang Zoom

Hey everyone,
Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Not so much here.  Last week on Mother's day my dog, Bailey had a seizure and then another one early in the week.  We took her to the vet and she had good blood work results and the doctor said lets wait and see.  Well she had 4 more during the week and then she started to have problems with her hind legs and she was falling.  Sunday morning we decided to take her to the emergency vet and they doctor said she probably had a brain tumor.  Bailey was 12 years old.  We could have tried to give her seizure medicine but the Doctor said she would not have a good quality of life.  This prayer helped me with making that decision as it once did with my other dog Molly.

A Dog's Prayer

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside... for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements... and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth... though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land... for you are my god... and I am your devoted worshiper.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.

And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest...and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.
-Beth Norman Harris

My sweet girl-I will miss you so much! This was one of the last pictures that I took with her!

On the lighter side-This week on the blog I am going to feature 2 page layouts!  I have been really busy making things for the store.  The owner likes to display 2 page layouts.  There has been a ton of new products so therefore I have been busy.  Here is the first:

I have to say--I like the design of the layout but I was not happy with the results.  First, I didn't like the pattern paper.  I like bright and fun and this was vintage and washed out.  Second, I should have used a darker color cardstock, but I was out of black and had to get this layout done in a hurry.

Supplies
cardstock-kraft
pattern paper and embellies-G.C.D.

I hope everyone has a great day!  I will be back tomorrow with another 2 pager.  Thanks for stopping by!

What a sweet poem-brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry about Bailey, the last photo is going to be a very treaured one for sure.
I see what you mean about liking brighter colors for your layout but I think it still captures the essence of the photos really well!

Oh Mary Pat, I'm so, so sorry about your Bailey. Our pets are much more than that, they are members of our family.

We are so hard on ourselves, your layout is beautiful! I love the banners and the little pockets are perfect! You are so lucky to have the LSS to keep you busy and display your work! :)

Aw, it's always so hard to lose a member of the family like that, but it was best for Bailey. I hope your family is doing well.

Oh, so sorry to hear about Bailey. She's a gorgeous dog. Hugs to you, I know how hard it is to let go of that precious family member. I have a hard time with 2 pagers - I love your design, the mirror image of each page. Looking forward to seeing more! :)

I am so sorry to hear about Bailey, it is so difficult to lose a treasured member of your family. We lost our Tubby 2 years ago, and we still think about him-this poem is a great comfort.

I love the layout-reminds me of old time circus tents and the Ringling Bros font. :)
