A Very Fun Challenge!

Hey everyone,
I did a very fun challenge this week for Scrap The Moments ( a fun new challenge site).  The theme was to create a layout about yourself.  Wow, can you believe that in over 10 years of scrapping I have never done a layout about myself.  I have done several while pregnant (but the focus was on the upcoming baby etc).  I have done several where I am in the picture (vacation pictures, hanging out with hubby or being with the boys), but I am not the main focus.  So this was totally different for me.  Years ago I bought a Lisa Bearnson kit from QVC that was the TSV and it was a kit called All About Me.  Every year it has been my goal to complete this kit so that my kids could look back on and say "wow that is our mom"  however, I have never even opened the box.  I always put my other scrappin' ahead of me--wow that seems like my daily life story. Anywaaay the idea of doing a one pager on myself seemed a lot easier and faster to do, but I ran into trouble right away---- Can you believe I didn't have any girlie paper.  I had to go out and buy some pretty paper.  I found the new doodlebug paper line Bon Appetit.  I just love doodlebug's colors.  They are just so bright and cheerful.

I used a Hero Arts flower and inked it up with scattered straw ink from Tim Holtz.  The flower matched the yellow from the paper, and I put a doodlebug gem in the center.
Here I used my new Ali Edwards stamp from Technique Tuesday.  I love the saying "the details"--too cute. I also used some really old doodlebug sugar coated brads.
Supplies
cardstock, pattern paper, gems, brads:  doodlebug
stamps:  hero arts, technique tuesday
die cut: nestabilities
fiskars border punch
twine:  paper trey ink
flower: hero arts
ink: tim hotz distress ink scattered straw

Goal for the future--complete more layouts about myself--maybe even complete the album kit I have.  Do you have any goals for your scrapping or paper crafting.  I think that I need to start them.

I hope everyone has a great week and I will be back with a new layout.  Thanks for stopping by and I want to thank everyone again for all the kind comments.  It means so much to me that you take the time and write such kind comments.  I truly appreciate it!

Mary,
what a neat challenge! I'm right there with you. I've never done a layout of myself either. I wouldn't even know what to say. It would certainly be a challenge! Your layout turned out great! Love the papers you chose, definitely girly, in your "house of boy" Lol!

Hi Miss Mary..what a neat LO & challenge. I'll have to check it out. I just did a LO not to long ago of me. I, like you... don't have hardly any of me in my albums..lol.

Such a nice layout. I find it hard to journal about myself. I haven't done one about me yet either.
I wanted to do a whole album about me, but nope haven't even started.
I also want to do a heritage album, it did start that one though.

Very nice layout....I don't scrap about myself often either so I've been trying to do that with Shimelle's class. I had to laugh when I read about your LB kit still in the box....I have the Heidi Swapp version still in the box as well!!! Sooner or later right?

Lovely layout! I think what others will appreciate most over time is your sharing a bit about yourself.
