Wednesday Core'dinations and Tombow Blog Hop

Welcome to the Core'dinations and Tombow Blog Hop!
For my project today I really wanted to get inky and messy!  So,  I broke out my Tim Holtz Seasonal paper and lightly sanded it to expose the impressions.  I then cut out a large rectangle and replaced it with the same paper but in red and tore it to expose the Kraft writing.  Next I took 2 Core tags and crumpled them up and then added some Tim Holtz distress ink and rubbed the ink all over to expose the crumpling.  I really love this distress ink.  I adhered these tags using the Tombow Power Tabs.  I then cut out my title and added some wood veneer just to add a bit of embellishment to it.  I wanted to keep the layout with a very Clean.  I glued the wood veneer using the Tombow Liquid Glue.
Last Christmas my son wanted this gorgeous hand carved wooden cross.  He saw it at his school's Christmas festival.  It was very expensive and I told me he wasn't going to get it. My mom came by and he showed it to her and she bought it for him for Christmas.  It was such a wonderful surprise for him and I was able to capture him holding it and running and hugging his Nanny!  It is my favorite photo of the day.  The Joy on his face is priceless!

So do you want to see how I made these tags?  Check out this new video that I made for Core'dinations.

What a small world it is Mary Pat - when I saw the sneak peek on the Core'dinations blog, I commented that it was a precious photo - little did I know just how precious!!! LOVE the layout you have created to celebrate this special moment, your Core combo is DELIGHTFUL and the texture of your tags is too.
THANK YOU for sharing your "distressful & inky" tutorial and crafty Christmas inspiration :)
PS - I already feel like a winner - I have got so much inspiration from the hop so far that I will be busy just trying out everything all summer through and beyond!!!

Wonderful LO. Love the deep colors and distressing. What a wonderful moment to capture as your son thanks his Nanny for the wonderful and meaningful gift. If your son is anything like my husband, he will treasure this very special gift for his entire life. Thanks for sharing this moment with us.
