My Memories Part Two

Hey There and Happy Tuesday!

Some of you might not know that I love making sketches for my crafting.  I carry a sketch pad in my purse so that whenever I think of something I can jot it down.  I usually then put these sketches into my computer and I have a file base of about 100 or more sketches.  I use these sketches for my classes that I teach, for my challenges over at Burlap and Buttercups , and for my personal use.  So with the My Memories  software I thought about making a sketch for you all.  I usually don't post many of my sketches here so I thought I would today, and here it is:

Using the My Memories software was so EASY to create this sketch. It was so fun and I knew I just had to share it!  I also thought that if you wanted to use this sketch you could and then post a link on yesterday's blog post you could get another entry to win the amazing My  Memories Suite 3 software package.  How easy is that?  You have until December 3rd to enter the contest.  Remember to go HERE to leave your link.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow with a card.  See you all then!

My Memories Suite V 3- Review Part One

Hey Everyone,

Several weeks ago My Memories Suite contacted me to try their digital scrapbooking software and to try it out for a couple of weeks.  At first I was a bit reluctant because I am NOT that technical.  I decided to investigate a bit before I said yes.  I was able to find that My Memories Suite is rated #1 by Amazon and Top Ten Reviews.  My interest was peeked.  I then went to youtube.com and found this video:
Ok I was hooked.  I wanted to try it.

Downloading the software was so easy.  It took just a couple of minutes.  Once it was loaded I was ready to go.  There are more videos on youtube that show you step by step but I really wanted to see if a non techie could figure this out because I have had photoshop elements for months and I can't seem to do anything with it.

Once I opened the software there was a choice- create you own page or use one of the designer templates.  I decided to create my own page.  It took me just a couple of minutes to create my first page.  The tool bar is so easily marked with Background Paper, Text, Shape, Embellishments etc. that I simply built the page with the preloaded papers and embellishments.  I was so happy to see that in the embellishments there were buttons--buttons are my favorite embellie!

For my first attempt at digital scrapbooking here is my layout.

Now I have to admit that my first attempt is not the greatest layout I have ever made BUT I literally made this layout in 20 minutes.  It was so EASY to use and navigate within the software.  I have to say I was hooked!  I wanted to explore the software even more.  Over the next couple of days I am going to show you my progression using the software.  I literally spent a total of 2 hours learning the software and browsing their store where there are TONS of free paper kits and embellishments to add to your software.  I think you will be amazed when I reveal my final projects.  The are simply amazing and again it took me just 2 hours to be able to make professional looking digital scrapbook pages.

My Review:  This is a must have product if you ever wanted to try digital scrapbooking.  I had tried Photoshop but I just couldn't understand it but with this software you can try digital scrapbooking and it is a snap!  I made scrapbook pages and cards using this software and I loved it!  It was so fun to put together a card in literally 5 minutes and print it out on my home printer.  I was so excited to see that in their shop there were tons of freebies.  I downloaded a couple and loved the designer paper collections.  They were awesome.  ( I will be showing those papers later this week.)  I can see why this software program is the #1 selling program on Amazon.

Now the wonderful people at My Memories also gave me ONE software package to give away to ONE lucky winner from my blog. They also gave me a promotional code to display on my blog where you will be able to save $10 off the purchase of My Memories Suite Software.  That brings the price down to only $29.95--that is AWESOME! Plus you will receive a gift card for $10 to use in their store.  How awesome is that!

Here is how you can enter to win- there will be multiple ways to enter!
1.  Follow my blog- tell me in the comment section on this post.
2.  Follow my Facebook page - Siehled With A Kiss and come back here to tell me.
3.  Post about this amazing giveaway on your blog or facebook page and leave a link in the comments

Happy Monday! Layout featuring Nikki Sivils!

Happy Monday!
I don't know about you but I had a wonderful time off these past couple of days.  It was great spending everyday with family.  I am so lucky to have them!

When I was off these past few days I was able to play in my scraproom.  I had so much fun and I got so much done!  Today I going to feature one of my layouts featuring the School is Cool line from Nikki Sivils.  I have used this paper a bunch lately and I just love it!  The colors are just so bright and cheery.  They are perfect for my Preschooler!  All the embellishments (stickers, die cuts,  and cut outs) were just perfect for my layout.

First Day of EPS2
The one thing I LOVE about Nikki's paper is that she always includes an awesome decorative border page. I think these pages are just so fun to use!  When I start a layout I like to pick my paper out and then go through all the embellishments that I think I will use.  With Nikki's paper collections you always get so many.  For this layout I chose some stickers and die cuts.   I then just keep moving them around on the paper until I think it all works.
1.  First I spritzed the page with some Mister Huey mists and zapped the page with my heat gun to let the mists dry.  This is one of my new favorite techniques!
2.  I cut various strips of paper that are 10 inches long and layered them on top of each other.
3.  I placed them at the bottom of the page.
4.  Next I cut out the corresponding banner pieces and pop dotted them to give the banner a 3D effect.  I like things to "pop" of f the page.
5.  Now it is time to arrange my photos and embellishments.  I know I had to have to adorable school house as the focal point and arranged the other embellishments around this one.  Again I like to combine all the different types- die cuts and stickers.
6.  On several of the die cuts I used pop dots to once again have that 3D effect.

Supplies
paper, die cuts, stickers- Nikki Sivils
misc. Mister Huey

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my new layout.  I will be back tomorrow.  You will want to stop by because I am having an amazing giveaway.  Perfect for a holiday gift for yourself or loved one!  I will see you then!

November Paper Trey Ink Blog Hop

Happy Friday!
Is everyone out shopping today?  Me not so much.  I really hate the crowds and waiting in line.  I am really an online shopper. I have my list made at least and I will try to get some things started.  We shall see.  I did go to Michael's yesterday when they opened at 4:00 pm.  I got some holiday decorations and several presents for the boys.  They had 50% off the Crayola sets and that was a bargain and then I got an extra 30% off that!  I then stocked up on adhesive.  Nothing crafty in my 2 carts but lots of goodies.  I am going to stop by my lss and pick up some goodies that they are having on sale though.

Today I am going to link up to this month's challenge over at Paper Trey Ink.  The challenge this month was to create something using this BEAUTIFUL prompt.

Isn't that pretty?  Oh I wish my house looked like that!  Well it took me a minute or two to come up with something.  I got out all my stamps and dies and just started playing.  Here is what I came up with.
I layered my Crate Paper and October Afternoon paper.  I then broke out my dies and layered my dies.  The inside die I stamped and colored with my Prismacolors and gamsols.  The Jenni Bowlin ink really matched perfectly and a Siehled With A Kiss card would not exist if it didn't have a touch of twine!

Supplies
paper-crate paper, october afternoon
cardstock-neenah solar white
stamps-dies-paper trey ink
ink-jenni bowlin, hero arts
twine- paper trey ink
button-basic grey
misc- sewing maching

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will be back on next week with some new projects.  I have been creative this past week!  I can't wait to share them with you!  Have a great weekend!

Whimsie Doodles Challenge

Hey Everyone!
I was searching the othe day for digi christmas stamps.  I really have been enjoying the digital stamps and when I googled this I found Whimsie Doodles.  These are THE cutest images I have seen. Well, It just so happens that they are having a contest using their stamps.

The project was to create a project that had a tag on it. To see the challenge click HERE  I knew Exactly what I wanted to create. with this.

For this project I printed my digi stamp on Nennah Solar White cardstock and then cut out the tage using my tag coluzzle system.  I then colored her in with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Next, I added the greeting and I just felt as if it still needed something so I added some snowflakes from a stamp set.  For the atual card I used my October Afternoon paper ( I broke down and got one of their goodie boxes last week).  I then added some twine from The Twinery.  You know I just always have to add some of their yummy twine.  I had so much fun making this card.  I know I will be going back here to pick up some more of their adorable images.

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I am so happy because today is like Friday for me.  If I can make it through today I am set!!

Yesterday was my son's birthday.  I am never home in the morning when they wake up so therefore I can't wish them a happy birthday in the morning.  I started a tradition with my older son when he turned 3 and that was to create a special banner, place mat, card, etc. for when they get downstairs.  So I wanted to start the same tradition with Michael.  I worked on his card/mat in the afternoon when he was taking a nap.  I used my new Sillouette to make the cupcake card.  The bottom part of the cupcake opens up and I wrote a little message to him and then I just decorated the cardstock with stamped images of cupcakes and bling.  Michael loves cupcakes.  While I was making the card Jack came over and was just too cute and said "oh mom, michael is going to love his card!"  what a sweetie!

Now it has been raining for 3 days now with NO light in the house so I couldn't take a picture, but then I thought of scanning it but when something is 3D the scanner has a hard time but at least you will get the jist of it.

I hope to get some crafting in tonight!  I can't wait.  I have sketched out a couple of card ideas that I want to do so hopefully all goes well and I will then have a post for you for tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!  I will see you all tomorrow!

Burlap and Buttercups Card on Friday

Hey There and Happy Friday!!!

I am so excited it is the weekend! Do you have any big plans?  We are pretty jammed packed again.  We have our holiday festival this weekend.  We will take the boys to see Santa.  Jack also has swimming and his last flag football game.  Then on Sunday we are having the Grandmothers over to celebrate Michael's birthday (which is on Monday).  I am making a lovely lunch for everyone.  So it should be a bit crazy but I am still looking forward to it!!

Over at Burlap and Buttercups I used my scraps and one of my sketches to come up with this cute and adorable card.

This sketch is just very basic but I always think it is a good one to make a card.
Here is my take on the sketch,

For this card I got to try a new technique that I had never tried before.  The letters h*i are from pink paislee and they are wood.  I sprayed my Tattered Angles mist to stain them and I lOVE how it turned out! So pretty.  Going to have to try this again.

All supplies are from the November Burplap and Buttercups kit.

Ice Cream Anyone?

Happy Wednesday!
How is your week going? Mine is going.  That is about all I can say.  I have been swamped with work and I haven't even had a chance to relax.  Simply Scrapbooks is having an open house and I have been hard at work trying to get all my projects ready and instructions made.  I also have 2 classes coming up so I have been working on those.  I can't wait to show you my card class that I will be teaching.  I am almost done with everything.  I will be using the Christmas line of Doodlebug.   Should be fun!

I have been on a card kick lately.  I guess I love it because I can usually have time to make a card and I feel great because I finished an entire project.  For this card I used my Paper Trey Ink stamp and die set to create the card.  I think the ice cream cone is just too cute.  I used my Jenni Bowlin ink to stamp the die.  I then wraped some coordinating twine from The Twinery.  I think it makes the card!

Did you have a nice weekend?  We did! Friday night was my crop and I was very productive. A Make It Monday Challenge on Friday

Happy Friday!
Are you excited for the weekend?  I am!  Any crafting plans this weekend?  I am going to my monthly crop tonight.  I am meeting a girlfriend there and it should be fun.  I plan on working on a Holiday Banner for my mantle.  Plus I have a couple of layouts and cards I want to work on!  Should be fun.  Then on Saturday my girlfriend in coming over to my house and the kids are going to play and we are going to craft!! Love it!!

Over on the Paper Trey Ink blog they have a Make It Monday challenge and I knew I just had to take part! The challenge is:

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge.  Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and feature this reverse applique technique.

The reverse applique looked really cool and I knew exactly what dies I wanted to use--my butterflies.  I then used my Jillibean Soup paper to fill in and I stamped the sentiment "Spread Your Wings and Fly"  I stitched around the butterflies and I thought it was missing something so I got out my Mister Huey's sprays and misted a bit. I used 3 colors: Apple Jack, Custard, and Plum Thumb.  I was a bit disappointed in my red bottle because the mister broke I guess and these huge drops came out--Well it was too late to make a new one -- I still think it turned out ok.   I then added a bit of bling using my IRock.

Supplies
cardstock-kraft, bazzill
paper- jillibean soup
dies- paper trey ink
stamps- paper trey ink
mist- mister huey
bling- Imaginisce
ink- hero arts

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I really really appreciate all your wonderful comments.  You all make  my day!  I hope you have a great weekend and I will be back on Monday with a new project.  See you then!

Wednesday Card featuring Felt

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
How is your week going?  Anything crafty going on?  Me not too much.  I have been able to get a bit in but nothing too big.  Hopefully this Friday at my crop and then on the weekend! fingers crossed!

My card today features the Jillibean Soup Dutch mustard line.  I spritzed the paper with my Mister Huey Pumpkin spice and then arranged the card.  Now my fun thing on this card was the new 100% Wool Felt that I ordered from Paper Trey Ink.  I am totally addicted to the felt!  It is so beautiful, thick, and the colors are to die for--well back on track now-anyway Jillibean makes the cutest embellishments using felt; however, they are a tad expensive because you only get like 4 in a package.  I am VERY frugal with my scrapping funds and it is just a bit high for me.  So I got to thinking that I could create my own with my Paper Trey Ink dies.  I was a bit worried because the felt is so thick.  Well as you can see it worked out!  I love them!!! I layered the flowers and added a button in the center.  I am in love with my homemade embellishments!

Supplies
paper- jillibean soup
cardstock-bazzill
sentiment- jillibean soup
felt, buttons, twine- paper trey ink

Here is a closer look at the flowers I made.  I made three sets.  The largest flower is apporximately 2 inches and the smaller is approximately 1.5 inches.

I have put these three sets of felt layered flower embellishments in my Etsy shop.  I have them priced WELL below what you can buy them for in the scrap store.  If you are interested please email me.  There is also a link to my etsy shop on the right side of my blog.

I hope everyone has a great day today.  I will be back on Friday with a new project.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

I Just Couldn't Keep It The Way It Was

Hey Everyone,

If you are in the U.S.  today is Election Day!  One of the best things about our country is our right to VOTE!  Hope everyone gets out and VOTE today!

OK-- well a couple of weeks ago I entered a Nikki Sivils challenge which was to scrap a style that you don't normally do. Click  Here for the original post. So I was putting away my layouts that I scrapped and I just couldn't put this one in the album.  The OCD in me didn't like the mix up.  Sooooo I just had to do something to make it a 12x12 and this is what I came up with.
I added a polka dot border on the top and bottom and placed it on a 12x12 cardstock.  Love it. Sorry it is a bit off--Michael came up and was getting in the way and I moved the camera.  Hope you don't mind.
supplies-
cardstock- bazzill
everything else- Nikki Sivils

I hope everyone has a great day today!  I will be back tomorrow with my Wednesday Card and some cute homemade embellishments I made this past weekend!  I just love them!  Be sure to stop by!
Thanks!

Oh Yeah it is FRIDAY!!!

Wednesday Card

Happy Wednesday!
I don't know about you but this week is moving by! I love it!!  A couple of weeks ago there was a discussion over at 2 Peas and it was about what magazines do you subscribe to and which you like the most.  I was in the minority  because I do not subscribe anymore to the magazines.  The reason being there is so much talent out there in the blog world that I don't need the magazines to inspire me.  I do miss the ads though but then again I can see most of those on the internet as well.

Are there bloggers out there that really inspire you?  There are so many for me and I look forward to reading their posts everyday. So many  inspire me to create new things with new products that I have never seen before or just a new way to use my "old' products. Today I want to give a shout out to Jennifer Ingle at  Just Jingle who inspired me to make this gift card set that I am going to give to all of my kid's teachers and aides.   You can see Jennifer's post by clicking on the above link.

Here is my adaptation.  I sized the card down to 4x4 and I coordinated my sentiment with my twine.  I am going to make a little gift box for the card set--that is on my list to do.

supplies
cardstock- neenah solar white, kraft
twine- the twinery
stamps- hero arts, ali edwards
ink- jenni bowlin

I hope everyone has a great day today.  I will be back on Friday with a new layout.  See you all then! Thanks for stopping by!

A B& B Card

Happy Tuesday!
Did everyone survive Halloween?  I am so tired.  It took the kids forever to calm down last night.  The boys had a fun time! Jack was a Ninja and Michael was Woody from Toy Story.  So very cute!  Can't wait to transfer the pictures. Hopefully I can do that after worrk today.

The October kit over at Burlap and Buttercups is so awesome.  I have been having so much fun making cards with all my scraps and there are so many embellishments in each kit!  Here I used some of the Jillibean paper I love the clothes pin.  I very simple design but I think it is just too cute!

Supplies
All contents are from the October kit from B&B!

I will be posting some sneak peeks at the November kit later this week.  You are so going to want to see--tons and tons of yummy goodies- I will give you a hint--my minds eye, authentique, basic grey, and lots lots more!

I hope everyone has a great day.  I will be back tomorrow with my Wednesday Card.  Thanks for stopping by!
