Learning About Pirates

Ahoy Matees!

I hate it when my boys aren't feeling well.  Both Jack and Michael have to started to get the runny nose and cough.  I decided to keep Jack home from his flag football game.  He didn't need to be running outside in 40 degree temperatures and coughing the entire time.  I knew Jack wasn't feeling well when he said "I think that is a good idea!"

Well I went a little crazy yesterday.  I went into Simply Scrapbooks and they had the new line in by Imaginisce Dino Roar--well I had to have the entire line.  I was soooo bad.   The paper is just so darn cute, and I can just picture all the layouts using this paper.  With 2 boys and a TON of dinos in the basement I am just picturing all the fun pictures.  Plus I got the Little Yellow Bicycle Christmas line--I was a bad girl--oh well I do love it so!  Do you all go a little crazy shopping sometime?  When the paper is just so cute I can't resist.  And today there is a 50% off coupon for Michael's--what is a girl to do?
Learning About Pirates

I have to say my Mom is awesome!  and I am so happy my boys are getting to know her better.  2 years ago we used to live about an hour from my parents, but my father had died and I wanted to live closer to my mom.  I am an only child.  Well in the year and a half that we have lived closer to my mother my boys have just grown to love her even more.  Well this  past summer Jack attended Pirate camp and my mom went out and found an awesome book on how to be a pirate, and she found some odds n ends to make a costume.  The two of them sat for hours one day reading about pirates.  The two of them were so cute.  This layout is for them!

Supplies
Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White
Pattern Paper:  The Paper Studio
Buttons and Twine:  Paper Trey Ink
Die Cut:  Spellbinders Nestabilities
Ink:  Antique Linen and Black Soot Tim Holtz Distress Inks

Well I have been having a great weekend so far.  So far I have been getting things done around the house and I have been having a creative time. I have had several projects that I needed to complete for the Simply Scrapbooks Holiday Open House.  I have my entry and then I have been working on my design team layout.  Hopefully I will have it all done and ready for next weekend.  It is with BoBunny (another company I have never used before).  So far it is turning out cute.  Can't wait to show it off next weekend.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back later in the week.  I have had some really great news and I will share later in the week!  Thanks to all!

This layout is adorable! You are so lucky to live close to your mom; it's one of the great regrets of my life that my two boys never really knew either of my parents.

I love the story behind the pirate layout. Those are moments you never ever want to forget. I hope Jack & Michael feel better soon.

Glad you are having a good weekend, even with the boys being sick. I love that you documented the story of them reading. The layout is super cute!

Hope your boys get better soon.
I go crazy buying scrap related treasures when we go to the States as I don't have the same fun products here.

Just love the layout! Sometimes I go crazy at the store too. They make all those papers and embellishments look so good in the displays, don't they? Can't wait to see what you create!
