1/23 Where Have I Been?

Hey Everyone,

Just thought I would pop in to let you know that I am still alive but I have been taking a LONG break from blogging!  This has been coming for awhile now. I  have been feeling very burnt out on everything- crafting, photographing, editing, blogging etc.  I needed a break for a long time.  I am still on my break, but I will be popping in a couple of times a month to showcase my Some Odd Girl and Core'dinations projects.

So what have I been up to since I have so much time on my hands without blogging?  Well, family things.  It has been so wonderful to just relax and enjoy my family without having to rush home from work, get things ready for the next day, and then hide in my basement and craft.  I have been enjoying just being with my family and loving every minute of it.

We also decided as a family to rescue and adopt a dog!  My oldest has been wanting to get a dog but I have been saying no becuase I just knew I couldn't handle a puppy.  So as a family we decided to adopt.  We found 3 wonderful organizations and it took us 3 months to find the perfect dog and we did!!!  Her name is Nola.  She is a lab mix.  We are thinking lab and shepard.  She is 5 years old and she is just amazing.  Her family was moving and didn't want her anymore.
Here she is on her first day with us.  She is so well behaved and is just perfect in our eyes!

We got Nola the Saturday before Christmas and she was my son's Christmas present.  He is just soo happy!

I also have been really busy with my tennis and captaining a USTA competitive league and that has been keeping me busy as well!

I have been crafting a little bit but it has just been for me.  I have been enjoying creating just to create and not having to worry about blogging and deadlines.

I will be back and I haven't entirely left but my posts won't be every day or even every week, but I will pop in.

Hope you have a wonderful and crafty day!

I have to say, THANK YOU! for adopting a rescue dog. I do a lot of rescue work and I see tons of wonderful dogs that need a family. It's wonderful to hear that your family looked for the 'right' one and didn't do a purchase based on looks. It so important to have the dog fit your lifestyle! Love the picture of the boys with their new fur-sister. Enjoy your break!

Nola is such a cutie.
I am sure the boys are loving her so much :)
Its good to take a break, especially if you were feeling burnt out.
I told myself I was only going to post when I share something creative…but on my 6th year of blogging every day…its a hard habit to break, lol.

Nola is adorable!! After rescuing Dirk, who was 8 months old at the time, we knew we didn't want a puppy again. It's like having a baby! So when we rescued Boris, we were looking for a dog that was 2-5 years old. It's the perfect age!!
