An Odd Girl Wednesday Card

Hello and Welcome to Siehled With A Kiss!

What's new?  I just keep marching on!  I can't wait till the weekend!  That is so bad that I am already exhausted and it is only Wednesday.  Oh well I will get through.  I am just finding out how hard it is to have a child in school and work.  I thought it would get easier but it is not.  I work a half hour away from home and Jack's school is 15 minutes further north.  I leave school immediately to drive up north to be in the car pool pick up line (if I don't get there by 3:00 Jack is waiting close to 45 minutes in the school for me) and wait for about 25 minutes then we have to book it back 15 minutes south to go pick up Michael at his daycare and then we drive 10 more minutes home.  I am exhausted by the end of all this.  I don't know if I can keep this up for 175 more days (hey who is counting how many days there are left in the year-hehehehehehe).

I have been on a challenge kick lately!  And there was an awesome challenge over at Some Odd Girl Stamps.  Click HERE to get all the details.  Basically the idea is to use up your scraps!  How awesome is that!  Here is my take on the sketch.

The sentiment says "your're the best"  Sorry so blurry--don't know what happened!

Basic Grey Part One

Happy Tuesday,
As I have mentioned before one of the things that I do at my lss is to help make some of the displays to help sell the product.  Last week I had the Basic Grey card kit to make.  The kit used the Oxford line.  The purpose of the display was to show that this line is very versatile and that it doesn't just have to be for school layouts and cards.  Here is the first batch in my series

I really love those glasses!

Sorry for the bad angle on this one.

I love this one.

Nothing really exciting going on here.  Same old Same old.  It is funny at how quickly we have fallen back into our routine.  It seems like the summer was so long ago.  I am adjusting well at my new school.  I really don't have time to think about anything.  I teach 6 periods straight and my planning bell isn't until 7th period.  So I don't even have a second.  This is good because the time flies!

I really don't have any scrapping plans for this week.  I have a layout started to I hope to finish this and that is about it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I really appreciate all your lovely comments!  I will be back tomorrow with my Wednesday card.  See you then.

A Jillibean Challenge

Happy Monday Everyone!

I know I said I wasn't feeling the mojo but Friday night we were all in the basement and my mojo hit me because I saw an awesome sketch over at Jillibean Soup.  My creativity started to flow and I new I had to participate.  It was a great sketch.

Julyjbsoupsketch500

For my take I combined a couple of different lines (Blossom, Spotted Owl, and Chilled Strawberry).  This is a layout of our local YMCA Easter Egg Hunt.  You have to get there early in order to find a parking place and this year the weather was horrible.  It was cold, windy and raining.  It seemed like we were waiting forever for the hunt to begin.  These are a couple of pictures of Jack getting ready.  He was so excited!

Supplies
cardstock- bazzill
Everything else is Jillibean Soup

I hope everyone has a fantastic day.  I will be back tomorrow with part one of my mini series of my Basic Grey card display for the store.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  See ya soon!

A Doodle Challenge

Oh Yes it is Friday!!!!!!!!

Who is excited that today is Friday?  I know I am.  I am exhausted!!!  Does anyone have any exciting plans? Not here--thanks goodness.  We are just relaxing! The weather is supposed to be awesome so we will be outside.

Any crafting plans?  Not here.  I taking some time off.  I worked like a dog all summer on my classes, work for the store, and with some orders of cards that I am taking a bit of time just to relax after school and hang with my boys.  If I feel motivated than I  might make something.  I can't stay away for too long.hehehehehehe

When I first started scrapping I mainly used cardstock but then the owner of my local scrap store showed me this beautiful baby collection and I fell in love instantly.  It was Doodlebug Design.  I thought it was awesome.  For a birthday present my husband bought me 5 sheets of every bazzill cardstock that matched the line.  I was in heaven!!!  Well anyway --- they now have a blog and and they have started doing some sketches (they call them doodles).  Well you know how I love challenges so I just had to make a card using their first doodle.

Very cute design. no?  Well I had to break into my stash and I put together this little card.  I really like how it turned out. Here is my take on the sketch. Just had to add a touch of bling on the heart.  I am going to put this in my hubby's lunch next week.  I can't wait!!

Echo Park Fresh Face Challenge

Hey Everyone,

Once again Echo Park is having their Fresh Face Campaign.  Echo Park is such a fun company.  I love that their kits contain everything you need to make dozens of projects.  With fall fast approaching I thought I would start off with a couple of Halloween Projects.

Pumpkin Carving

I love to layer my pattern paper, and for this layout I used 6 different pieces.   I love to frame my  pattern paper with cardstock,  In this case I matted the main pieces in black.  I then arranged my photos ( I like to use 4x6 photos) on my 10x10 square.  I then added some strips to set off the photos from my journaling.  At the top I made some file tabs and added some additional journaling. For the title I used the alphabet stickers that came with the line.  I love how these coordinated.

Halloween card

For this I card I used my scraps from the above project.  I am a very frugal scrapper and will not throw away the smallest piece because I know I can use it on another project.  I have tons of little frugal tips!

Supplies
paper and sticker- Echo Park
die cut- Silhouette
stamp- Hero Arts
ink- hero arts

My final project- 1-2-3 Jump

I loved the Splash line for the summer pool photos.  In this layout I used a bunch of the cardstock stickers that come in the collection pack.  I placed the big swirl under the picture of my husband and son jumping in the pool to give off the feeling of them splashing into the water.  The cardstock stickers are always my faves!

Supplies
cardstock- bazzill
 paper- Echo Park
stickers- Echo Park
alphabet- American Crafts thickers
banner- Jenni Bowlin
buttons- Doodlebug
twine- Paper trey Ink

I want to thank Echo Park for taking the time to look at my projects and considering my work!

I hope everyone has a great day today! I will be back tomorrow with a fun card! See ya all then!

Wednesday Card

Happy Wednesday!

My school district has 2 days of inservice and then we have the 3rd day off before the kids start on the 4th day. So I am so excited that I get to take Jack to Kindergarten.  He said he had a really great day yesterday.  He has 15 in his class and he loved it.  So today I am taking all the pictures of both Jack and Michael who starts Early PreSchool 2.  I will have tons and tons of pictures.

As mentioned  last week that I needed to make a couple of  project using the new 3 Bugs in a Rug for the store.  Here is the card that I made using the scraps.  I just love the little tag of the 2 turtles.  Just so cute.  I made the heart using my Silhouette.

Supplies
Everything is 3 Bugs in a Rug

I hope everyone has a fantastic day today?  Does anyone have any scrappin' plans?  I am going to try but who knows.  I have a ton of laundry and then I am going to work on some school stuff.  I always get a bit nervous for the first day of school with kids.  I know this is silly even with this being my 23rd year but I always get the butterflies.  Going just to try to stay calm!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by.  I truly appreciate all your comments.  It means so much! Thanks!!!  See you tomorrow with another new project!

Imaginisce Monthly Challenge- August

Hello!

Well it is time for my monthly Imaginisce challenge.  This month Becky Fleck from Page Mags came up with a sketch for us to use.  The goal-use this sketch using Imaginisce products.

I love Becky's sketches.  They are always so much fun and it was perfect for my layout.  A couple of weeks ago I was at Michael's and Jack saw this volcano building kit.  I had an extra coupon so we got it.  Jack is really into the science kits.  So it was a couple days of work.  Here is the first day (part one) on the family making the mold for the volcano.  Jack and Michael loved mixing the plaster.  They were so cute.  I knew this paper Dino Roar would be perfect for just this very thing.

supplies
all products are Imaginisce except- Cosmo Cricket mini alphabet and sewing machine

I hope everyone has a great day today.  Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow for my Wednesday card!  See you then!
