Thursday and Off They Go

Happy Thursday!

I am sticking once again to my Halloween theme.  (This is the last one if you are getting tired of them LOL!)
As I have said I am using up my stash.  My paper is out of control and there are some really really cute papers out right now that I want to get.  I was even tempted to get some new Halloween papers ( I really really want the MME Halloween collection BUT I have been strong! and have stuck to my goal! )  but I have not broken down and when I think about it hey, I still have last years Halloween paper untouched.  I do get a bit mad at myself for not using up my paper.  I am totally NOT a hoarder but I do buy a lot of Halloween papers and then I don't use it all.  So this year I am NOT buying any and using up what I have.

So on to my layout!  I broke into my Bella Blvd stash and got out Too Cute to Spook.  I just loved this collection and bought waaaay too much of it.  So I am starting to use it.  Again knowing that I want to use up my paper is really freeing because I love using all the different pattern pieces.  It is so awesome.

These are photos of my boys from last year heading off to trick or treat.  I always capture them heading off and I don't know why but they are always my favorite photos.  I really went a bit hog wild on using my Silhouette with this layout.  I made my own Poloraid photo frames, tags, doily and thought bubble! I love using my Silhouette to help create embellishments along with titles.   For my tags I added some black and white and orange and white twine from the Stringery.  ( Have I mentioned before how much I love the twine from this shop?)

Wednesday Coloring

Happy Wednesday!

For several weeks now I have been wanting to give my hand at coloring some stamped images.  I have not attempted coloring in quite a long time now, but I bought some really cute stamps at the end of the Halloween season last year and I wanted to try my hand again at coloring.  I was a bit nervous because it had been such a long time since I colored.  I used to color all the time but for some reason I just moved away from them.  So my first attempt was with my copics and I have to say I failed miserably!!  I used the correct paper, ink etc but it was just a big mess.  My little one even said to me "mom that is ugly!"  So I then moved on to my prismacolor pencils and some gamsol.  Whenever I need something quick I always head toward my pencils.

So this is what I made.  I used my Penny Black stamps and colored them with my pencils.  I think the little Dracula turned out so cute and I love his little bat friend! I then added some Halloween twine from The Stringery and called it a day!   I had a lot of fun and may try my hand at coloring again sometime soon. LOL!!  I

Tuesday Home Decor with Imaginisce

Happy Tuesday,

Back in July I had the fun time of working with the Imaginisce Monster Mash collection from Cord Scrapbook Studio.  I have always loved Imaginisce paper collections because they are just too much fun.  I had already made a card and a layout and I had some paper scraps left over so I made this altered photo frame.
I used the pattern paper along with some of the die cuts to embellish it.  It is pretty simple and basic but the paper and the couple of embellishments make it cute!

Everything is Imaginisce

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with a new Halloween card that I made this week.  See you then!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Monday Making Your Own Stacking Embellishments

Happy Monday!

Did you have a nice weekend?  We had a wonderful time!  Saturday was just extremely relaxing!!  I loved every minute of it.  Then on Sunday my mom and I  went shopping at the outlet mall and found some really awesome bargains and then we came home for lunch.  Then after lunch we left hubby at home and my mom and the boys and I went to a couple of fall festivals to get fall mums and pumpkins!  We had such an awesome time!!

Back in July Cord Scrapbook Studio gave me the Monster Mash collection to work with and I just had so much fun!  This is a super quick card I made using the paper and a sticker.  For the center piece I made my own stackable embellishment,
I first used my circle punches and made 3 circle punches.  I then placed my sticker on the smallest circle.
I then placed my foam tape on the back of that piece and stacked it on top of the black circle.
I then repeated the foam tape on the black of the black circle
and placed this layer on top of the scalloped piece.
Here is a look at the layers.
I then placed that on top of my card!

I have tons of Halloween to share with you this week.  Like I said I have been working on Halloween since July.  I am so excited to finally share it all!!  See you tomorrow!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Friday Moxxie Madness

Happy Friday!!

Who is glad that the weekend is finally here?  ME!!!!!  This week did go by really fast though for me which is really good.  Do you have any plans?  Saturday we have Jack's Lacrosse practice and then he is having a friend over (love this!!!).  Then on Sunday we have NOTHING.  Yup that is right NOTHING!  I am so excited.  I am totally going to get some crafting in. I have a a couple of projects for Moxxie that I would like to knock off and then maybe a project or two for me.  That would be awesome!!

Have you tried the new swing cards?  There are some dies out there that create these cards and then my Silhouette has a couple of them.  I wanted to try them so I bought the basic round circle.  It was really fun to create.  I covered my basic white card with some fun Moxxie Midway Madness paper.  We have a birthday coming up and I thought this would be great.  I covered the circle and then added the fun carrousel horse die cut and added a little banner.

This is the front of the card.

Then you pull the card open and the circle swivels and you have your message.  I covered the flip side of the circle with yellow paper again and then stamped my sentiment.  I added a few buttons and I was done!
These cards are super fun to make.  I am really glad I tried it.  I just wanted to try something new!

Thursday Mustache

Happy Thursday!

I have mentioned before that I REALLY need to use up some more of my paper stash in order to buy more!  LOL!  So I  had some time to scrap for myself lately and I came across this funny photo of my little one.  This summer was so hot that I made a lot of Kool Aid.  The boys loved the sugar free fruit punch.  Every time Michael drank it he would get the biggest mustache from Kool Aid.  When I was going through my paper I came across the Little Boy collection from Bella Blvd. I  have sooo much of this collection and I have barely touched it.  Why I have no idea but  I knew it would totally be perfect for this photo.

The great thing about using up your stash is that I was totally free to just go ahead and cut the paper and use as many different patterns that I had.  I don't know about you but sometime I just HATE cutting into a gorgeous piece of paper but with this new goal of mine I went a bit crazy.  It is very freeing!  I then layered some of my chipboard embellies and added a couple of buttons.  I just had to cut a mustache using my Silhouette.  I thought this image was just too cute!

Wednesday CAS Card

Happy Wednesday!

How is your week going?  So far so good here.  I have been able to get in some crafting time this week.  I have found a good routine for us after school and it seems to be working much much better!!  Tonight is busy though with Jack's Lacrosse practice.

A couple of weeks ago I need a birthday card for a friend who loves the clean and simple look to things.  So I came up with this.  I used my Soup Staples II from Jillibean Soup and my Silhouette to create this look.  I am really really addicted to using the negative space lately!  I then just added a Soup Label and I was done!

Tuesday and We R Memory Keepers

Happy Tuesday,

Did anyone read the Hunger Games series?  I read all three books last year and loved them!  All of my students were reading them so I decided to join in the fun with them and I wasn't expecting to like them but I really did enjoy them.  I  highly recommend them if you want a fun read.  Well, I then got my hubby to join the fun and he read them as well.  So when the movie came out on video this month and we got it yesterday from Netflix.  I LOVED the movie.  It was lots of fun.  If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.

Today I have a layout that I did for We R Memory Keepers and Cord Scrapbook Studio using the Making the Grade collection.  I think this is one of my all time favorite school collections.  At Jack's school they do fall photos and then spring photos.  This was his spring photo and I have been wanting to scrap it for awhile now.    It is awesome to see how much he has changed since from the beginning of the year.  Here is a link of a layout that I did of his first kindergarten photo ( HERE).

For this layout I just basically layered all the fun pattern pieces. I kept tucking little bits underneath till I got the desired effect.  For the title I used my Silhouette to create Kindergarten and then I used some Jillibean Soup alphabet stickers.

Monday School Days

Happy Monday

Did you have a great weekend?  We sure did!  It was just nice to have a semi calm weekend.  Jack had his first Lacrosse practice and he really liked it.  The coach and helpers were just awesome and he really learned a lot.  Then on Sunday Jeff and Jack went to the Bengals game.  Michael and I stayed home and we broke out our fall home decor and set up our mantel and pulled out the fall towels and so forth.  I also got some crafting done.  Love it when I can craft just for me!

Last Friday was a really cool day for me because my projects that I made for We R Memory Keepers debuted on their facebook page. Last month I was contacted by We R and they asked me if I wanted to play with this collection and make some projects for their Facebook page.  Well of course, my answer was YES! and   I was so excited.  Here is my first project.  I LOVE printer's treys because they make THE perfect home decor item.  I was honored to play with the Making the Grade collection and so I wanted something fun for our house.  I snapped these photos of Jack on his first day of school.  I ten took each little trey and made some cute inserts.  For several of the boxes I cut the paper using my Silhouette into some fun cards like the school house and some journaling cards.  I then decorated the boxes with the coordinating stickers, bottle caps and tags!  I just love how it turned out!

Friday and Moxxie Gift Boxes

Happy Friday!

Oh I am so glad that it is the weekend!   How about you?  Do you have any plans?  Saturday I have errands and then Jack has his first Lacrosse practice.  He wanted to start Lacrosse so we have our first practice.  Then on Sunday hubby and Jack are going to the Bengals vs. Brown game and Michael and I are hanging out at home.  I hear some crafting in my day!!! I can't wait!!

Moxxie has a great collection called A very Merry unBirthday.  This is a fun, bright and cheery birthday collection.  Our family has so many birthdays this month that I made some fun gift boxes using my Silhouette and this paper collection.  I have to say I had a ball with it.  I made two different sizes- a larger one and a smaller one.

The larger bow- I just love this one!
The second bow.  This one was really fun!

Thursday and a New Smile

Happy Thursday!

Last weekend I was able to squeak in a little scrapping just for me!  I love it when that happens.  Last year Jack lost his first tooth.  He was so excited.  He lost it right before bed and was so worried that the tooth fairy would take his tooth.  He wanted to keep it.  So we wrote the tooth fairy a note telling her that Jack wanted to keep his tooth.  Obviously being a huge scrapbooker I took a photo of his new smile and I saved the note and tucked it away to save for a layout.

Jump ahead to this past weekend and I new I wanted to scrap this photo of him.  The problem is the note got a little damaged.  That totally can happen in this household with 2 boys.  So when I was getting out my Jillibean Soup papers I found this great journaling card and rewrote the note on it.  I then had Jack sign the card just like he did last year.  He loved the idea because the note was torn to pieces by a little one who shall remain nameless LOL!

So for this layout I was able to mix some new Grandma's Lima Bean Soup with some of my scraps from older collections.  I so love that the colors all mix well together.  I also added some red and white twine on my journaling tag and also some natural burlap twine in my buttons.  Both are from The Stringery!  I also added the new banner bits from Jillibean.    I am really addicted to these little embellishments.  Then finally I had to add a bit of flair and some canvas stars from my stash.

Wednesday Greeting

Happy Wednesday!

As I have mentioned before, I leave the house at 5:45 a.m. for work.  I never see my kids in the morning and most of the time I am fine about that but sometimes I HATE it.  Last Friday was one of those days because it was Jack's birthday.  I hate that I can't give him a big birthday hug and kiss.  So what I do is I decorate the kitchen table with handmade things!  This is what Jack saw for his first birthday card.  I used a 12x12 sheet of kraft cardstock and I used my Silhouette to to cut out everything. I used the negative space backed the space using Jillibean Soup Staples 2.  I loved all the polka dots!.  I used my sewing machine and did some messy sewing and then stamped some balloons and attached them with some fun twine from The Stingery
Jack loved this!!  When I picked him up from school he said he loved it and he had already pinned it to his bulletin board in his room!

Tuesday and 7

Happy Tuesday,

As I mentioned last week that Jack  had his 7th birthday.  I always make him several cards and this is one that he opened up before his presents.  I broke out my Jillibean Soup ( I have been on a real Jillibean kick lately!) and pulled out my Spotted Owl Soup collection.  I also used one of the brand new Silhouette images.  The image is the adorable clip board.  I just love it!    So for this card I layered my paper and then did some quick sewing.  I then cut out my number 7 and clip board.  For the piece of paper I stamped it with my Paper Trey Ink note book paper stamp with my jenni bowlin ink.  I then layered the clipboard together and added one of the soup labels for the sentiment.  I then just HAD to use some of my navy blue burlap twine from The Stringery.  I said yesterday that I was totally addicted to this string.  I just love it.  Finally I cut out the little adorable owl.  I think he is just too cute.

Monday and 40

Happy Monday,

Why do the weekends go so fast?  We had a great one!  For Jack's B-day we took him and a friend bowling (Jack's favorite activity these days) and then they came back to the house and played.  Sunday the weather was so perfect and we worked outside in the yard a bit and then I scrapped.  I am working on some fun projects for myself and for Cord Scrapbook Studio.  I am working with the LYB Making the Grade collection and some MME Winter wonderland.  Talk about fun and more fun!!!!  Golly I love paper! LOL!!

As I mentioned before we have been jammed packed with birthdays, and I have been busy making birthday cards for hubby and Jack.  This is a card I made for my hubby!  He turned 40 this year and I knew I had to make a special card.  So I broke out my Jillibean Soup!!  I used my Silhouette to cut out the 40.  I knew I wanted to use the negative space.  I then layered the bottom half of my card using scraps from my Macho Nacho collection ( I am so sad because all I have left are teeny tiny pieces now).  I then used some of the awesome navy burlap twine from The Stringery ( I am totally addicted to this navy burlap twine.  It is so awesome!).  I then wanted to add some paint splotches and broke out my Mister Huey sprays.  I then wanted to add a little flag or banner and I broke out my new banner bits from Jillibean.  I love how it turned out and hubby LOVED it.

Friday Moxxie Blog Hop

Happy Friday!

It's time for another Moxxie Blog Hop! Join the Moxxie Muses the first Friday of every month to be inspired and for the chance to win a complete collection of the featured line! We're continuing our blog hop series with the Road to Recovery collection.

Moxxie released the Road To Recovery collection, an elegant and poignant line designed for people fighting long-term illnesses, in July. Moxxie thought it was time to create a beautiful line that focused on healing, but also encouraged the writer to be honest about what they were really going through. The designs of this collection are versatile and can not only help a patient document their recovery, but it can also be used for get well, thinking of you, and sympathy cards, as well as to create layouts on just about any topic.

For my layout today I wanted to show the versatility of this collection.  The papers in this collection are just absolutely fabulous. I am totally in love with the grey, yellow, black, teal combinations.  The colors were perfect for a photo of my boys that I took of them last year.  The only thing I added to the collection was some yellow chevron washi tape,  buttons and mist.  I cut the title using my Silhouette.  The title was just perfect for the two of them!  .  I also made my own embellishments using different sizes of circles and I stacked them using foam tape.

Happy Thursday!

I love it that the week is marching on so quickly!  I am ready for the weekend already!  LOL!

I have to give a little toot for myself but yesterday I was the featured fan over on the Nikki Sivils, scrapbooker facebook page.  Sarah featured my layout and card using the Get Well Soon Collection.  I was so honored to be chosen!  I just always have a lot of fun when I use Nikki's papers!

Kite Tails Designs has a collection called Man Cave!  This is a fun collection that is perfect for all the men in your life.  We love to grill out and I thought it would be great to snap a photo of my hubby grilling out for my Project Life.  I really loved the photo so I decided to use it for a layout and I knew Man Cave would just be perfect for it!!

Wednesday Band Aids

Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday was hubby's birthday and we had a ball.  Now it is time to prepare for Jack's birthday.  I can't believe he will be 7 years old!  Time is flying by. I will have their cards to share next week!

Last week I made a layout using the Get Well Soon collection from Nikki Sivils, scrapbooker, and I had tons of scraps left over.  I save all the little pieces of cut paper.  I know I will be able to use them.  So I cut the tiny scraps into banners and made a banner for the bottom of the card.  Next I added some black and white and the red and white twine from The Stringery (If you love ribbon and twine you really need to check this etsy shop out!  It is so awesome!!).  Next I cut out some of the band aids and added some googly eyes and mouth and stamped the sentiment!  Very Easy Peasy!

Tuesday Costumes

Happy Tuesday

Did you all have a wonderful long weekend?  Oh wow I sure did!  Friday was my birthday and we had so much fun bowling Friday night.  Then we came home and my mom baked me my favorite cake- dark chocolate cake and homemade carmel icing.  This has been my favorite cake since I was a little girl!  Then present time.  I was so excited because my mom got me some fun scrappin' supplies.  I got some more of the boys only collection and some october afternoon cakewalk!.  Then hubby and the boys bought me a fuji instax mini camera.  I was soo excited!!! I can't wait to give it a try!  Then on Saturday through Monday we just hung out with family.  Loved every minute.

We are on are birthday week.  Last Friday was my birthday, today is hubby's birthday and then Friday is Jack's birthday.  Lots and lots of excitement going on in our house this week!  So busy and crazy.  I hope that I can squeak in a couple of minutes to scrap.

Back in July, Cord Scrapbook Studio gave me the Monster Mash by Imaginisce  collection to work with.  I was pretty luck because I had yet to scrap last years photos.  Jack dressed up as a Ninja.  He really LOVED this costume.  He was going around with all these Ninja karate moves.  This is him giving a karate move in front of our house.

For this layout I used kraft cardstock and made a border using my sewing machine.  I then made some bats using my Silhouette.  I then just layered my pattern paper and embellished using their chipboard and die cuts.  There is a glare on the chipboard and it reads- Trick or Treat.

I was so excited that Cord picked this layout to feature in their monthly newsletter!  I will have a couple more projects using this collection once they appear first at Cord.  I have a card and a home decor piece!
