Monday Butterflies

Happy Monday!

Did you have a nice weekend?  I sure did.  It was very busy but on Saturday we went to a family party and it was so great being with family!  Sunday I was able to get some work done!  Got to love this!  I am working on some upcoming classes that I will be teaching this summer.  I have a bunch of ideas I just need the time to get them all planned and ready to go.

This is a layout that I did for the store using Basic Grey Picadilly.  It was just perfect for my photos of the boys that I took when we went to a butterfly exhibit last summer.  We had a bunch of fun.  This Picadilly collection was just so beautiful.  For this layout I used banner strips.  I have to say I am still totally addicted to banners.  I love them!

Supplies
cardstock- bazzill
paper- basic grey picadilly

I want to say thanks to everyone for taking the time to write such kind comments on my blog! You are all so wonderful and supportive! I truly appreciate it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back tomorrow with another project.  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Friday and Saturdays Home Decor and Some Fun News

Oh Yeah! It is FRIDAY!
Who is excited?? I am!!  Any plans for the weekend?  We have a lot actually but all the things are spaced out so it should be fine and not rushed!  I plan on doing some scrapping too!  I am excited!  I have a couple of projects (like project life) that have been ignored with other work and not I am free to get to it!! I have 6 weeks to catch up on--YIKES!! but I know I can get it done!

On to some fun news! Last night I was offered and accepted a Design Team position for Kite Tails Designs.  This is a new company that is just super!  I am so excited to be a part of their first ever Design Team.  You can see the other members and the post HERE.  I can't wait to get started!

And no on to my project for Today!

I don't know about you but I LOVE home decor items that I make for my house.  One of the things that I love are printer's treys.  I love to switch them out for each season.  This is one I made with some of my favorite photos of the boys.  It sits in our book case in the family room.  I love to look up there and see this.  It just makes me smile.

Everything is Little Yellow Bicycle except the actual printer's trey which is from Hobby Lobby.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend.  I will see you all on Monday!  Have a wonderful and scrappy day!

Thursday Button Challenge

Happy Thursday,

How is your week going?  Mine is going ok. I have to say that I am totally looking forward to the weekend! It has been a LONG week already!

As I mentioned before, I have had some free time lately and I have been scrapping for myself.  Jillibean Soup put out a wonderful challenge a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with it- Buttons!! Now if you have been following me at all you know I like to use buttons!!  So this challenge was perfect for me.  I also got to use some paper in my stash that I have had for awhile and I just had a blast.

So how did I use my Jillibean Buttons?  First, I used one of the large epoxy buttons to create my sun.  I used it for the center.  Next I used all types of buttons from Jillilbean (epoxy, cardstock die cut buttons, and button stickers from various collections) and formed a heart.  I then filled in more of the heart with various hearts and stars from other collections.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow with a home decor piece using Little Yellow Bicycle's Saturdays collection.  Hope to see you then! Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Wednesday birdie

Happy Wednesday!

I am so happy my week is moving on!  The weather has been a bit chilly and windy for us to go outside so I have been able to get some crafty time in! I am really having fun scrapping just for me!  I can't wait to show you what I have been working on.  I hopefully will have it done tonight and will post it on Friday to enter the challenge.  I sooooo love challenges!  Do you like challenges?  Do you enter them?  When I have time I really like doing them because it get me moving on some photos that I have wanted to get scrapped.

As I mentioned yesterday I had the great fortune to work with the Little Yellow Bicycle Paradise collection for Cord Scrapbook Studio.  I really fell in love with this collection.  I wanted to make a very simple card and this is what I came up with.  I just love that little birdie!  The colors in this line are just soooo beautiful.  If you would like to see more wonderful inspiration with  this line please look HERE

Tuesday in Paradise

Happy Tuesday!

Last month I worked on 4 kits for Cord Scrapbook Studio.  I was fortunate to work with some awesome paper collections.  One of collections was Little Yellow Bicycle's Paradise.  I LOVED this line.  I still had some photos to scrap from our vacation last year and this line was perfect for it!  I had this great photo of my hubby and boys enjoying themselves in the water.  I wish I could have had a microphone to hear what they were talking about!  This is one of my favorite photos!

Monday Jillibean Sketch

Happy Monday!

Did you have a great weekend?  We had a busy one but overall it turned out just fine.  I had a great time with my scrappin' girlfriends at my crop.  I got one layout done and talked the rest of the time.  Very Fun!!  Then over the weekend I was able to get just a bit more scrappin'.

For the first time in a LONG time I had some extra time and I scrapped just for ME!  I had these 3 photos of Michael and I knew I wanted to use some Jillibean Soup and they just so happened to have a sketch challenge going on!!  PERFECT!!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it!
I stuck pretty close to the original sketch and just  added some ink splotches!  It seems like I can't scrap without my mists and sprays!

Friday Parade

Happy Friday!

I don't know about you but I am so happy that today starts the weekend! I have my Friday night crop with the girls tonight and I am so excited.  I already have the feeling that I will be talking more than scrapping.  I really don't have a lot to do.  I have all my commitments done for the month so I can pretty much work on whatever I feel like!  I should work on Project Life!  Who knows??????

Many of you know I LOVE Nikki Sivils, scrapbooker paper collections.  One of my all time faves is the Monster collection!  It was perfect for this layout of Michael at school for his Halloween parade. He was Woody from Toy Story.

Wednesday Card from Start to Finish

Happy Wednesday!

Have you been crafty this week?  I haven't really been too crafty.  I would like to be but we just haven't had the time to get downstairs.  I have some great projects on my desk but no time.  I hate it when that happens!

Today I want to bring you a Start to Finish project today.  One of the sketches that I made for Burlap and Buttercups was for a card.  I love to use my pattern paper scraps on my cards.  This card used a bunch of it!

So for my starting point- I always start out with a sketch that I make.  For my card I decided that I wanted to change up the basic sketch and make my paper strips into different sizes of triangles.  I am really into the ray look and the unevenness it gives.

Use a scrap piece of cardstock that is the exact same size as your card.  Using a ruler draw your lines and the pattern you want.
Then put in numbers so that you know how the pieces fit together.
Next cut out all the pieces and then trace all the  strips on your  pattern pieces of paper.

I like to keep the pattern piece along with the white piece together and in order so that I know how I will arrange them.

Now it is time to put the pattern pieces and arrange them on your card.
Glue all the pieces down.  I then added some machine stitching around the card.  I love to add stitching on my cards whenever I have time.

To make the flower- Start with 2 or 3 different sizes of scallopped circles. Cut them in the same or different pattern paper.

To give the flower a bit of dimension, roll the paper in little balls.
Unfold the flowers and put pop dots  in between the layers.  I added a button for the centerpiece, but you could also add a brad or anything else.
Finished Card- I added a little banner piece with a simple sentiment using a Hero Arts stamp.

Supplies- April kit from Burlap and Buttercups
paper from lily bee, jillibean soup
button- jillibean soup
twine- the twinery
banner- mme
stamp- hero arts
ink- hero arts

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed my Start to Finish on my card.  I am taking the day off tomorrow, but I will be back on Friday with another new layout.  See you then!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Tuesday- double page at B&B

Happy Tuesday,

Do you prefer one or two page layouts?  I have discussed this before here, but I prefer one page layouts because they are easier for me to do.  I do many 2 page layouts for Simply Scrapbooks, and sometimes I just have a bunch of photos that I would like to use.

Here is a 2 page layout I did using the April Kit from Burlap and Buttercups.  Last summer I went on a scrapbooking weekend with a friend.  We went to  Crop a Doodle Do in Indiana.  It was a scrapbook and spa retreat on a old Farm.  It was a lot of fun!  The food was awesome and Becky our hostess was so sweet and kind!  Have you ever been on a scrapbooking retreat? Did you like it?

April Burlap and Buttercups Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday!
Did you have a great weekend?  I sure did!  Friday we met some friends at the Melting Pot ( a fondue restruant) for dinner.  My mom watched the boys and we had a great time!!  My favorite part is the dessert.  We ordered the chocolate turtle- a fondue with dark chocolate, carmel and pecans- and then you dip various fruits, marshmellos, and other treats.  OOOOH was it good!  Saturday we really just hung out in the family room all day.  It was very cold and rainy!  I did not even go into my scraproom.  NO motivation.  Sunday I did my work for Simply and then worked in my room just a bit.  Not a lot done because the weather was 80 degrees and sunny!

I am up over at Burlap and Buttercups today with a new sketch and challenge.  The sketch is really fun and the twist this month is really easy- use some mist or paint on your project! The prize package is to die for if you are a My Mind's Eye fan.  So please stop on over and take a look at the sketch and then maybe enter!  You don't need the kit to win!

Here is my take on the sketch.  At the end of the summer we all went to Kings Island, our local amuesment park.  My mom and hubby went on the new ride the WindSeeker.  It goes really high and spins you around.  I love rides- the faster the better but I do have a little bit of fear of heights.  I decided to stay with the boys and my mom and hubby went on up- the Dare Devils!

Friday Project Life- Week 8-9

Happy Friday the 13th!!!!

Who is excited for the weekend?  I know I am.  I am in the mood to relax.  I have errands to run on Saturday and then NOTHING!!  I can't wait to just hang out with the hubby and kids!  The weather is supposed to be warm but possible rain.

Are you going to get crafty this weekend?  I hope to just a bit- My goal is to get caught up on Project Life.  I have to admit I have lost some of my thrill.  We have just been so busy as a family this past month and I honestly forget to take a picture.  Plus I have had NO time to work on it.  I have just been swamped with other commitments that I just haven't had time on Sundays to get caught up.  I am now 3 weeks behind.  I need to find the energy and get back in!  We shall see!

So on the topic of Project Life I have my weeks 8 and 9 completed.  I am really loving my Silhouette for creating the 3x4 cards and just everday sayings and titles.  I think it adds a cute embellishment without a lot of work-- easy peasy in my opinion.

Left Side Week 8- I am not a  huge pinterest person but I have to say the recipes that I have found are awesome.  This one is angel chicken and let me tell you it is awesome!!
Right Side Week 8- Hubby has this app on his phone that notifies him if there are star constellations or planets visible in our area at night. Well he was updated that we could see Venus and I went outside and took a picture.  It was pretty cool.  Jack loved it.  The boys got out the telescope to look a bit more.  Kind of fun!
Left Side Week 9

Insert 6x12- I am loving the inserts a whole bunch.  I knew the insert was perfect for this.  Jack came to the craft table and got out his paper and stuff and just created this little note for me and ran it upstairs without me seeing and put it on the kitchen table for me to see when we got upstairs.  He is just soooo sweet and I about cried because he did this all on his own.  I just love it!!

Right Side

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with something new!  See you then!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Wednesday- Call Me

Happy Wednesday,

Yesterday was my first day back to work and I have to say I was exhausted! Hopefully today I will be a bit better in that area!  The weather has taken a turn a bit and it is chilly so that means we have been inside a bit more which means some more crafty time for me!! Got to love that!

As I mentioned yesterday, my first Design Team project for Cord Camera was to work with the Neopolitan Bisque Soup collection.  Here is a card that I made using all the papers in the collection.  I really love the look of the sunshine rays so I adapted them to fit this card.  I then added a Jillibean die cut for the center piece.

Tuesday with Jillibean Soup Neopolitan Bisque

Hi there,
I am back!!  I LOVED my time off.  We did so many wonderful things over the last 5 days.  I really had a wonderful time.  I basically took a technology time off.  I really did not check email or the blog world.  I did, however, work on some amazing projects for Cord Camera.  I did a total of 7 projects using Bella Blvd., Basic Grey and Little Yellow Bicycle.  I can't wait to show you, but it will be awhile because they first have to appear at Cord.

Speaking of my work for Cord Camera, this was my first Design Team project for the store. I did these layouts 2 months ago.  If you follow my blog you will know that I LOVE JIllibean Soup.  I was so excited when they said this was my first assignment.  I used the Neopolitan Bisque Soup.  This is such a fun line!! You can check it out HERE.

This layout is my son talking on his Elmo phone.  He is always carrying his phone around and talking to his "friend".  He loves Elmo!

Wednesday Bowling!

Happy Wednesday!
Well, I got NOTHING done yesterday scrapping with the ladies! I talked the entire time!  I had fun though and that is all that matters!  When I picked up the boys from school we went to the park and had a ball!! I love great weather and this is supposed to be our last for the next couple of days.

Today on my list of things to do is work on another batch of photos and back them up and organized them.  I also have a pedicure and then I need to do some scrapping!! With not getting anything accomplished yesterday I am very behind!!

Over Christmas break we took the boys bowling.  We had such a great time.  Simply Scrapbooks recently got in a new shipment from Moxxie and I snagged the Bowling kit.  This line was just perfect for my pictures.  Are you getting tired of all my 2 page layouts?  For Simply the owner only wants 2 page layouts for store displays.   So I have a ton of them.  I personally prefer to do one page layouts but I am not picky at all.  I always have such a hard time photographing 2 pagers- they always seem to be lopsided.  Sorry!

I hope everyone has a great day.  I will be back tomorrow with another project!  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Tuesday LYB

Hi
Just popping in to share this 2 page layout that I did awhile back.  I am cleaning out and going through all my photos.  I am trying to organize my photos (and boy, do I have a lot of them).  It is one of my goals over my Spring break.  So far I have made a very decent start at backing up part of my photos and organizing them into folders.  I have started when I got my first digital camera 7 years ago.  I have a lot of work, but I am determined to get it done!

This is a layout of Jack's soccer team last year.  I can't believe it is sign up time already.

supplies
cardstock- bazzill
digital collage- kerri bradford
title- silhouette
everything else- little yellow bicycle

I am off to scrap with my girlfriends today.  I can't wait! I am going to start on a mini album.  So excited!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! Have a crafty day!

Monday with Bella Blvd

Happy Monday!,
How was your weekend?  Mone was awesome.  Saturday I ran errands and then it was cloudy and misty and I sat on the couch for a couple of hours and read my book.  I am on the 3rd book in the Hunger Games series and I am loving it.  I then was motivated and finished my project that needed to be done and then started another one.  My mojo was flowing and it felt great.  Sunday we spent a lot of time outside.  We walked to the park and hung out with the boys.

Todya I want to share a layout that I did for the store using the Spring flings and Easter things collection from Blella Blvd.

For the bunny, title and easter basket I used my Silhouette.

Supplies
cardstock- bazzill
paper, flowers, stickers- Bella Blvd.
