I LOVE the new I Rock!!!

Having 2 boys I have always stayed away from the Bling, but I saw a video on the Imaginisce web site and I thought mmmmmm I might like this.  So I went to Michael's today and with my 40% off coupon I bought it!  Let me tell you it is my new favorite tool!!! I love the BLING!  It is so easy to use and I love all the different accents you can buy-crystals, gems, metal--it all is just awesome.  So of course I had to make some new stuff using this fun tool.  So here is my first creation:

I placed the gems on the antennae and then scattered them on the card in purple.  I just love it!

One More Vacation Layout! (I think this is the last one.)

I love having two boys but sometimes it can be rather difficult.  I am sure any parent with 2 or more children understand what I am talking about--the constant fighting!  When one of the boys has something then the other boy wants, the screaming and the fighting.  It drives me crazy.  Michael, my younger son, always wants to do what his older brother, Jack, is doing.  So it is  truly A Moment To Cherish when they both are getting along, and they are quiet.  One night on vacation we were all just sitting around and watching t.v. when both boys decided to sit next to each other.  It was just so darn cute.  Jack would give Michael a kiss and they would hold hands.  I couldn't believe my eyes.  They were getting along.  Maybe there is hope that one day they will get along AND be friends!

When making this layout I decided to once again dig really deep into my stash and use up some really old paper.  I know this paper has to be at least 3 years old, but I still love it!  I also hooked up my Silhouette machine.  Since we moved to our new house I have not hooked up the Silhouette.  I had forgotten how much fun it was to use.  In the past year they have added so many cute images.  I can't wait to use it some more.

Future Photographer?

While we were down in Florida this past June, Jack started to take an interest in my camera and taking pictures.  I must say that some of his pictures were quite good.  I scrapped 4 of his pictures (the view from the condo, some coral in the condo, and some sea shells in the condo, and i think one of his best pictures-a photo of himself  in the mirror taking a picture--very creative I think) in this layout.

Lovin' the Camera
Supplies
cardstock:  Bazzill
Pattern Paper: Stampin' Up and Basic Grey Basics
Inks: Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Inks
Font: Cricut Mickey Mouse Font

Just a bit of information--went to Simply Scrapbooks  last night and I picked up my new Design Team Kit.  I picked the new line from 3Bugs in a Rug Tool Time and I must say it is soooo cute.  I love love love it.  I will be buying more of this line.  I will post some pictures of the paper and the layout later this week.  Simply Scrapbooks has a ton of new stuff coming in and it is so hard because I want to buy everything!!

Well I am off to go play with the kids and to get a bit of scrappin' done tonight and then I am off to bed.  Tomorrow is the first day of school with the kids.  I know I will be exhausted tomorrow.  Have a good week and I will post soon!

I need your help + new card set

Hey everyone,
Hope you are enjoying the weekend.  I have been enjoying spending time with the family.  For once we are having a relaxing weekend.  I need more of these.

Well I have been working on a layout and I found this paper in my stash.  I am trying to figure out who made this paper.  I bought it at a garage sale about 3 years ago.  I think it is Stampin' Up but I am not sure.  If you know who made this paper please leave a comment in the comment section.  Thanks so much, and here it is:

Now the card set I made this week.  On the Hero Arts blog last week they had a back to school theme, and since I am headed back to school next week I wanted to make a quick card set using this idea.  So here it is:

And here is a close up of just one:

Supplies
Cardstock: Kraft Cardstock by Bazzil
Stamps:  All by Hero Arts (grid background, canvas background, ledger stamp, flower, and sentiment)
Inks: Hero Arts Snow, Tim Holtz Antique Linen, Memento Tuxedo Black
Copic Markers (various colors)
Tools:  Fiskars border punch
Gems:  Doodlebug

I love this set.  I am going to use these cards at school when I send little notes to other teachers during the year.  I also think I may make a complete set and give them to Jack's Pre-K 5 teacher.

Speaking of Jack, I can't believe my baby is going to be 5 years old in a couple of weeks and that tomorrow he is going to Pre-K 5 tomorrow.  He is a bit nervous about going to a new class, but I know he will do fine.  I will post pictures of him on his first day.

Love to all and don't forget to leave a comment please!
thanks!

Cards for Kids Blog Hop

Today is such an exciting day!  I am participating in the Lawn Fawn Blog Hop for Cards for Kids.  Here is a little message from Kelly at Lawn Fawn:

Hello and welcome to the Lawn Fawn Hearts Cards for Kids Blog Hop! We have all come together today to make cards for a wonderful cause, Cards for Kids! We hope to encourage you to also make cards for this great cause and have fun along the way, too! So please hop along with us, and make sure to leave comments as there will be prizes for commenters and participants! So let's get going! Also, if you are lost in the hop, you can always start at the beginning at the Lawn Fawn blog. Thank you so much for hopping along with us today!

Here is my card.  Why are frogs so happy?

The punch line:  They eat whatever bugs them!

This card was very easy.  I simply cut out a a blue piece of cardstock (5.25 x 3.75), stamped with the canvas background stamp, and attached it to a 4 x 5.5 piece of white cardstock.  I then cut a a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock so that it is 3 x 8 and then folded it in half.  On the front I stamped the images of the flies and frog, and then colored them in with copic markers.  I then ran the piece thru the printer to print out the joke and then again for the punch line.  I then stamped some more flies around the punch line and included a little spider.  Once again I colored the flies with copics.

Supplies used for the Card:
Cardstock:  bazzill and neenah solar white
Stamps:  Hero Arts Background Stamp ( a canvas stripe);  Basic Grey Leaping Lizard stamp set.
Inks:  Hero Arts Cerulean Blue; Memento
Copics: markers

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to leave a comment.  There will be prizes for commenters (according to Kelly).  If you see something you like please feel free to sign up and follow my blog.

A Couple of Cards-Updated with second picture

Hey everyone,
Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I know we did here.  Of course we were so busy, but what else is new.  Saturday we went to a friend's house and Jack learned how to fish.  I have some really cute pictures.  Here is a quick one for you all to see.  He is so proud of himself! He can't stop talking about it.
On Sunday we went to the German Fest and had a good time.  I can't wait to scrap this picture:
Oh what fun!

Now on to some card making.  I had a lot of fun coloring these flowers in with my copic markers.  I basically made 2 different versions using the same Hero Arts stamps.  The first one uses the flourish background stamp.  I heat embossed it with white embossing powder, attached my flowers and then stamped my greeting using the Staz On ink.  I did add some glossy accents to the center of the flowers to make them pop just a bit.
The second card uses the same flowers but i used the Hero Arts layering paper and distressed the edges just a bit with the Tim Holz Wild Honey distress inks.  Attached the flowers and then added some of the Hero Arts gems just to bling it up a bit.  Then I added the greeting.

Hope you like the cards.  I am off now to continue working on some layouts of our vacation to Florida.  I am going to submit them to a challenge.  I will post them when I am done.
Have a great day!
p.s. don't forget to leave a comment or leave a question and I will get back to you!

Crazy for Circles--2 Layouts

I have been so creative this week.  Ever since I bought the Martha Stewart Circle maker (check out my blog for a video review) I have been hooked on circles.
Here is my first layout--The Golf Hat
When we were down in Florida the boys found my uncle's golf hat and they would wear it everyday in the condo.  they just loved it and I thought they looked so darn cute.  The paper I used is very old (at least 3 years old) and I don't remember the name (sorry).   The base is bazzill plus I used some random buttons.  I am trying to use up
some of my very old paper.

The next layout is One Cool Dude
Michael always wants to be just like Jack.  So he found Jack's sunglasses and put them on.  He thought he was so totally cool.  It was so cute for the 15 seconds it lasted before Jack yelled to take off HIS glasses.

Paper--Basic Grey Mellow
Cardstock--Kraft Bazzill, Neenah Solar White, Bazzill(blue)
Brads--Basic Grey
Inks--Tim Holtz distress inks scattered straw, shabby shutters, wild honey, walnut stain

I also am making a quick card with the circles.  I will post that soon.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.  I will be busy.  The Stampaway Convention is this weekend!  I hope to go shop on Saturday plus Simply Scrapbooks is having a sale if you bring back your ticket--looks like my wallet is going to hurt after this weekend.

See ya soon!

Imaginisce's August Sketch Challenge!

Well, I have decided to enter the Imaginisce's August Challenge.  It was a lot of fun.  We had to make a layout created from this sketch.
Here is my adaptation of the sketch.
We had to use 75% of Imaginisce's products on the layout.  That was NO problem for me.  I love their paper because they have such great boy lines.  I cant wait for the new lines from CHA to come out.  I will be first to buy them at Simply Scrapbooks.

Here is what I used:
pattern paper:  Let's Roll (Imaginisce)
card stock:  Bazzill
Tools:  Fiscars border punch, label 8 from Spellbinders, quickutz font Frankie

The journaling reads:  Jack has been asking for a riding car or truck for abut 2 years, but they are so expensive.  I have been looking for a bargain forever.  Well it finally happened.  I found a John Deere riding truck.  Jack was so excited and Michael didn't know what to think.  It was so cute watching the two of them riding around the house.  They never wanted to get off.  They were Truckin' (August 2010)

Hope you like it!

martha stewart large circle maker review + video

Hey everyone,
Well I was in Michael's on Friday and I found a new tool by Martha Stewart ( a large circle maker) and I had a 40% off coupon burning a hole in my pocket. So I decided to buy it without hearing anything about it. There were only 2 left on the display. Plus I have been looking for a great large circle maker. So I decided to get it.
I brought it home and within 5 minutes I was making perfect circles! It is awesome!!!!! It makes circles from 4 inches to 12 inches. Now this tool is not for someone who has the Cricut Expression. I have the baby bug so i can not make the large circles. It is so easy and fast! Here is a video that I made showing how it works. Hope you like it! (this is my first attempt at making a video)

Hope everyone has a great weekend and I will be back with some new layout designs and a couple of cards.  I have been playing around with some Hero Arts stamps.

Butterflies

I love butterflies!  When Hero Arts came out with this large butterfly stamp I knew I had to have it.  I thought it would just be perfect for copic markers and cards.  Well, I was right.  I just love what I came up with.  It is very simple.  I just stamped the image and then colored in with copics. I added a bit of glossy accents to the blue parts on the wings. Sorry you cant see it.   I pop dotted it  on a tag from nestablilites and stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts.  I then added a bit of ribbon from A Muse.  What do you think?

Today I also went garage sale shopping with my Mom and kids, and my mom bought me for $3 an Easy Bake Oven.  When I was a little girl I wanted an Easy Bake Oven so bad, but my mom never bought me one.  So today I am fulfilling a dream with my Oven.  Jack and I are baking a little cake.  I will post pictures later .  I already have the Title for the page "Fulfilling a Dream!"

Have a great day!

Keeping Busy!

Well Jack has been sick for the last 2 1/2 days so we have been staying home, and I have done a bunch of work in my scraproom.  Once again I have organized the area, and I think it looks pretty good.  I will have to post pictures soon.  Everytime I think about taking pictures it is a mess with a project that I have started.

So far this week I have to share a 2 page layout  and a card set.  First the layout:

This is a layout created with the Echo Park Summertime line.  I just love this paper.  It is so bright and the colors matched the boys swimsuits.  I added a scalloped border using the fiscars punch , cricut box, quickutz font zoe, and button twine and buttons.  It was pretty easy.

Next I  made this card set:
I took a class at Simply Scrapbooks with Jenn Shurkus from A muse and I love her cards.  They were much smaller than the cards that I had been making.  The size is 3.5 inches wide and 5 inches long. So I decided to make a quick card set using this size.  I started with some bazzill swiss dot paper, made the tag from Spellbinders Nestabilities, used the Hero Arts Hydrangea stamp and greeting stamps.  I colored my flower with copic markers (boy, do i love these markers) then I cut it out and pop dotted it to the tag.  I then used my sentiment.  I made one "just wanted to say hello" and then on the inside it said "Happy Birthday" and the other was just a simple one "a happy hello".  I will be adding to this set hopefully by the end of the week.  I am making this set for a Christmas gift.  Got to get started on this early so I am not going crazy come December.

I hope everyone is having a great week.  Hopefully Jack will be feeling better.  I don't want Michael to catch this bug.  Well I am off to play with the kids and to make a quick sketch for my next layout.  Will post soon!

Wow What A Day!

We have had a busy day so far.  We all decided to go to one of my favorite places.  Can you guess?  It has do with scrapping in a way---
Yes, we went to IKEA.  How does this relate to scrapping you might ask.  Well I bought another Expedit bookcase.  I needed another one to hold all my albums.  I have them scattered all around the house and now I have them all together for the first time.  They are all organized and I am just so happy.  Jeff put it together right when we came home and then I got buys!  I think I am in a constant state of organizing my scrap room.  Here is what the new bookcase looks like.

The kids had a ball at IKEA as well.  They have a great kids drop off room and Jack had a ball.  We then all went to the IKEA restaurant and had lunch.  Kids under 12 get to eat for free.  It was awesome (except for Michael falling and cutting his lip open--oh well)!

Well I am off to organize some more!  Once I get everything organized I will have to post some pictures.  I love that my kids have a desk near mine so that they can be creative too!
